At check-in, an additional cash security deposit of $20.00 for the key was required. After recieving the key, I was informed that the room assigned to my reservation had been "freshly painted" earlier that same day. Needless to say, the stench of the paint was overwhelming. It is unbelievable that a room in such deplorable condition would be assigned to a guest. Upon request, a different room was provided. Although the motel claimed to be a non-smoking facility, the room was reeking of cigarettes. Additionally, the television (in both rooms) was set inside a cabinet in which it could only be seen from the center of the room, in between the beds. The entire experience was DISGUSTING and after entering the second room I immediately returned the key and left. This motel fell short of any reasonable expectations as provided by their presentation on the hotels.com website.

"Never Stay Here!"
By Christopher of East Greenville on Monday, November 09, 2009

We booked a room here last minute for my daughters cheerleading competition in November, I know it was off season but it was the worst hotel/motel experience I have ever had, the manager was nonchalant about the numerous issues we had from a broken window to noisy "permannent residents" at the motel, aparently during the winter months they open the motel up like a rooming house to pay the bills, these people like to ignore the 10 pm quiet rule till 1:30 in the a.m. and then again from 3:30 till 4:30am needless to say very little sleep, we booked a "deluxe" room and it was small and old and had rusty faucets and did not even come with cups to rinse when you brushed your teeth or shampoo, nothing, just one wrapped bar of soap, unfourtantly since we booked last minute we could not cancel and go somewhere else or we would have.

great location near boardwalk and in the heart of Wildwood. Hotel room was clean but don't expect any degree of luxury. Overall, a place to rest your head at a decent price.

the motel has a wondeful location and was built in the 50's but it has not had a good cleaning in a long time and is in need of paint and some new beds. our room smelled of smoke and the bathroom was dirty, the towels are very small and the pillows are like a rock. Take cleaning supplies and your own linens.

"needs a good cleaning"

The rooms smell of smoke and the bathroom is far from clean. The motel was built in the 50's and could be charming with some paint and elbow grease. Take towels with you as the towels are the size of a large hand towel and thin. The pillows are like a brick and the mattress is thin. One block to the beach and boardwalk. Very close to the rides.

What was nice was the hotel is conveniently located 2 short blocks from the board walk. But the bad far outweighed the good. The street noise was so loud and the people were making so much noise it was impossible to sleep.Never again.

"Great hotel in good location at reasonable price"

Good thing is hotel is very close to beach and nice and clean. There is a Rite-Aid across the street and boadwalk which is just one block away has lots of eateries. I am completely satisfied with my stay. I stayed there during labor day weekend of 2009. It is very compact and just enough parking spaces and very small pool. But for the price it is good place to stay. also surroundng space is safe.

This hotel looked like it hadn't been remodeled since the eighties. We arrived around 11:30 or so, and we knew that we were early. But, since there was no parking and we didn't want any problems since we didn't have one of those tags for the rear view mirror, we decided to let the front desk know we arrived. The manager was a complete jerk. 'I don't know why people think they can check in whenever they want.". This is what he said to us and then realized he had two rooms ready. He could have said "We may not have anything ready right now, I'll check" or "If you want to head up to the boardwalk and leave a number, I'll give you a call as soon as a room opens up." The rooms were filthy, we slept on top of the covers, in our clothes. THe best thing was the pool and the fact that it's about two small blocks from the boardwalk. But I most definitely wouldn't stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

The Knolls Resort Motel is in a perfect location - within walking distance of nearly everything you could want. Restaurants, bars, comedy club, boardwalk... etc. It's a Wildwood "classic" so there are no frills and no elevator but it was clean and the pool was nice. Railings are original to building so watch your young ones - they can fall through if you aren't careful. Bring your own soap, too - they didn't provide that.

"Better than expected"
By Tin of Fairfax on Friday, August 14, 2009

The receptionist already called out my last name when I walk thru the door to check in and this was the 1st time I've been here. Check in and out were very simple, quick and easy. The key to our room was quite hard to open but they did tell us to jiggle it a little and a matter to getting used to it. Everything was in working order, especially the window A/C and Frig which are most critical to us. The motel even has a place for you to shower/wash the sand off which I didn't expect it to have. If I had to stay longer, it'd be nice to have a laundry place. There's no phone in the room, but which we don't need and since everybody has cell phone anyway. There're chairs, table with umbrella outside of your room and in the balcony area which is nice to relax and rest. I did not expect much of the motel, but it turned out that the room and service were better than I expect. Oh, forgot to tell you all...there a Rite Aid food convenience store just across the street, just a few steps away, and that's a plus!!

I thought the desk clerk was very friendly and courteous, the room was very clean and accommodating, the only drawback was that there were no soap provided in the bathroom. Other than that, I had a pleasant stay, and I liked the fact that it was very close to the boardwalk so I didn't have to drive while I was there.

The locate from the broadwalk was nice, the hotel outside and inside was out dated, the bathroom was pink, and out dated from the '70's, there was only one electric plug that had every plugged into it at once. The Tv, micowave, was in a Tv entertainment center. The lamp was sitting on top of the entertainment center. The coverlet had spots on it, from previous quest. The room smelled meldew! The pool was in the back of the Hotel (motel), with no life guard on duty. The free parking, wow; if you can find a parking space. Think, I had to pay in advance and checked out within a day. They can keep the money for a donation to do some upgrades.

Close To All The Fun!!!

This place is so close to everything (i.e. Beach, boardwalk, amusement piers) that you can walk to just about everything and save a ton on parking fees. The rooms are immaculate and modern (in wildwood??!! I couldn't believe it!) And the staff is so nice you may never want to leave! Great place to bring the kids. We spent most of our time at the beautiful new heated pool. My husband paid to stay an extra day becausethe rates were so affordable for wildwood.

Did The Manager'S Mom Write The Other Reviews?
By Anonymous on Monday, June 19, 2006

This motel resort is just that a motel. If it was anywhere else it would be $29 a night and include free adult movies. I stayed there because it was a few dollars less than the other places and I got what I paid for. The only redeeming quality was the location. It was indeed only about a half a block from the boardwalk but I think that most of the other motels are as well. The pool was small and freezing cold. The ac was really noisy. But if you're on a budget and plan to spend all of your time at the beach or boardwalk this place will suit your needs. Just be aware of what you're getting for your money. Next time i'll spend the extra money and stay somewhere else.

Deplorable Conditions

When we booked the motel we were told we could check in early, if we arrived before 2:00pm. This was not true, when we got there at 12:15pm we were told we could use the outside restroom to change and go to the beach until 2:00pm. After driving 4 hours with two little girls, it's really not what we wanted to do, but had to. When we walked into the room, it smelled terrible and we didn't know what it was, but later at bed time we discovered the mattress had been urinated on! It was horrible, my husband and i slept on the floor. When we called the desk at 11:00pm to tell them noone was there. We called at 7:30am the next morning and noone was there again. Finally at 10:00am we told the person at the desk. Our shower had no shower head and it felt like a mist when you took a shower. My husband took a shower in his shorts, at the outside shower! The toilet seat was disgusting, it was all stained. Oh, and you can't use the microwave unless you unplug the tv or the refrigerator because there aren't enough plugs. The pool was freezing and was supposedly heated, but we weren't feeling it, my 4 yr. Old was shaking. My 10yr. Old bumped her head in the pool and got injured and when i asked for an ice pack they just kind of stared at me and said how did that happen? There was no compassion for my daughter! Look elsewhere if going here!

What A Find

My family enjoyed an a three day stay. The efficiency unit is actually a four room apartment. All furnishing were clean and up-to-date. Kitchen had all the essentials, full size stove & fridge. Bring an extra t.v. For the kids. No phones in unit. Close to 24 hr. Drug & food mart and boardwalk. The pool is a little small but everyone enjoyed. Grills on site. Parking is a little tight. No staff after 10 p.m but were accomodating and pleasant when there. Area was quiet after dark. Would recommend to any family. We are already planning next years' stay.
