"Not what I expected"

There was a shared balcony with only 2 chairs. There was mold and un defrosted ice in the refrigerator. The bed frame kept seperating from the box spring. The hot water was scalding in the bathroom.

"Outdated and Uncomfortable"

This hotel was outdated and the rooms were small and beds were very uncomfortable. Had to share a balcony with the room next door and that was very inconvenient.

"Has Potential"
By Anonymous on Monday, August 17, 2009

Visitor Review
The staff was great but the rooms need a lot of improvement. This hotel has a lot of potential to become a higher rating hotel if they just invest in the rooms. New beds, fridge and tv's. But for the money you can't go wrong.

For the price and location you can't beat Pier 6600 and they had live music by the pool the whole time we were there.

"I didn't like the "shared balcony"!"
By Anonymous on Wednesday, July 29, 2009

Visitor Review
The room was very small and very old - from the 1970's. Primarily, I didn't like the shared balcony. It was a very small balcony which was shared by another room. There was no privacy as people from the adjacent room were outside my room (on the balcony) talking all night. The feeling was they may as well be in the room! However, the hotel had a very nice pool and poolside bar.

"Needs Improvements!"

The Pier 6600 Hotel was the only thing I could find last minute but was not worth the money. The rooms were quite expensive for the area available. The shared balconies was inconvenient. There was also no information within the room on any eateries or things to do. The television was not up to date. The only good thing about the hotel is the Barefoot Bag & Grille, which was really a hit with my boyfriend and I. I would not recommend this hotel. The building is in need of some repairs and the rooms were too small.

"Needs to upgrade the room"
By Dee of Poughkeepsie on Tuesday, July 21, 2009

This room was adouble bed room. There was no coffee maker, clock radio, closet. It looked like a closet inside. The outside of the hotel was really nice. They need to renovated the rooms and make them more modern.I paid over $ 100 per night and stayed 2 full nights they didn't even have room service. This hotel really need to upgrade on the inside bathroom and room to included.

I know there are alot of negative reviews about this hotel but for what I paid for I got. The hotel is older than most on the strip and is outdated. It didnt bother anyone in my pary of 5. We enjoyed the pool and liked the balcony that came with our efficiency suite. The staff was nice and very informative. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the 6600 motel.

"Not worth it"
By Anonymous on Saturday, August 16, 2008

Visitor Review
The room had a terrible odor, the door frames were ravaged with rust, and the hot water in the shower ran out after just two showers, (there were four of us). There is ongoing contruction right outside our room, we were awoken every morning to foul language using construction workers. We came back from the boardwalk one night only to find that there was no parking at the hotel, we had to park on the street two blocks away. The best thing about this hotel was that it was located right on the beach.

"Do not Stay"
By Anonymous on Wednesday, July 23, 2008

I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was big enough for 2 double beds. The pink blankets had to be 20+ years old. I ran to Wal-mart and spent $45.00 on blankets and cleaning supplies. The bath room had dead bugs, the extra blanket rack was rusty, rusty door frames, musty smell...I could keep going but you get the point. I would not allow my child to walk around without shoes it was that nasty. Their web site makes them look like the cadillac of all hotels, when they really are the Yugo of all Hotels. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. PS. Had to share our ocean view balcony with another room...romantic

"Big Mistake...."

After driving for 12 hours, we arrived to find that our hotel is next door to one that is under construction!!! Our room was horrific! It was located on the first floor beside the exit door so all night we heard people going in and out and slamming the exit door. The room was big enough for 2 double beds, 2ft b/n them and 3ft at end of bed to wall. We shared a balcony with the guest room beside us. The airconditioner was broken and would not go over 58. There were stains all over the ceiling and rust on over the door. The girl at the desk said that was all they had but we had to sleep so the next morning we were going to check out and just go back home but the manager saw how exhausted I looked and came over and asked what was wrong and after I told him-he apologized and "upgraded" our room to a suite. Which was better and we decided to stay for the duration of our vacation but we will never go back to this hotel again!

This hotel is pretty cheap, but there is a reason for it. The service was fine but there was a hotel being built right next door and it was noisy and it ruined the view from our window. We were dissapointed to find that it was not posted on their website before reservations were made. It made our stay less enjoyable.

The rooms are very small. The valcony is not private. Two rooms have acces to the same terrace so we had to keep our blinds close all the time. The shower was to small and not very clean, the water didn't go down right the way. the pool was dirty and the water cold. It was to late by the time we got there to change our reservation to another hotel so we just stayed out as much as we could to not go back ti this horrible place. ANYONE WHO IS MAKING RESERVATIONS TO GO TO WILWOOD DO NOT FALL FOR THE PICTURES ON THE WEB SITE FOR THIS SPECIFIC HOTEL

Always Have Loved This Place
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 20, 2006

Visitor Review
I dont understand why most people give pier 6600 a bad review. I have gone there every year in july for about 14 years. My family and I know the owners well because of how many years we have gone there, and they always welcome us with wonderful hospitality. Whenever we needed something they were quick to get it for us. The beach is wonderful and since they bought part of the beach you dont have to worry about anyone being there other then hotel residents. It is at the end of wildwood crest so it is very quiet. The rooms are somewhat outdating however it is a hotel by the beach so you have to expect the furntiture and carpeting to look outdated from the saltwater. It is indeed of a makeover. But as long as pier 6600 is standing, I will continue to stay there every july.

Have Low Expectations? Then This Is The Place for You
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 20, 2006

Visitor Review
My husband & i stayed here one year on a whim. It was okay for 1 night & about same rate as other places. Not grand, not perfect, not great, but o.k. we received brochure in mail in ref to packages & such..so we decided to give it another try the following year, did not accept credit cards but was surprised by a thoughtful & very nice touch when we recieved a handwritten confirmation letter from the owner confirming receipt of our payment as well as our reservations . We were so excited to go, thought maybe we could start a tradition & go annually. Upon arrival things went from bad to worse. When checking iin they had no record of our payment, thanks goodness i brought confirmation letter along (because i wanted to thank the owner properly for the personal touch face to face) never would have guessed would have needed it to prove had already paid deposit for more than 1/2 of total costs! Then they acted as if i was inconviencing them because they had to "research"(which by the way took a few days to do so & that put a dark shadow so to speak, on our vacation. We decided to eat lunch at the "in house" restaurant. We already had previous experience from the year before that we knew there would be a wait to be served our order.very understaffed for the volume of customers they have. While waiting another customer decided that she was tired of waiting & thought that if she became loud, obnoxious & vulgar that it would assist in speeding up the service. She kept pacing back & forth in front of the table inside the restauarnt & also kept walking back into the ktichen where it is staff only. After about 15 minutes of hearing language that should not be tolerated when your in public, expecially when there are small children & senior citizens around. I walked over to her table & quietly requested for her to curb her vulgarity & obnoxious behavior..she flipped out. Long story short, the owner came in & asked what happened. We decided that we were no longer wanting to have lunch much less in that type of atmosphere, and attempted to leave the restaurant. The owner had them convert our order to take out status. Several people came up to me in the lobby by the reception desk to state how appreciative that they were that somebody spoke up in an attempt to stop that negative women & her actions. They were upset of the fact that it took a guest to stop it from becoming worse, staff members should have never tolerated it. The customers nor myself ever received an apology or anything from staff for that episode. Also never received apology or anything for attitudes or inconvenience the payment issue caused once they did indeed find that payment was made previously in the amount that i stated & also the confirmation letter stated. Every other aspect of our vacation was pleasant to fantabulous, if peir 6600 offered an all expense paid weekend i would decline.
