Lovely Hotel

When I go on vacation, I want to be as comfortable in my accomodations as I am at home. At the pan-american, the service people were friendly and helpful and the efficiency suites were spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated with modern facilities and just a touch of 50's kitsch. The pool is beautiful and well-heated so that even when the weather was a little cool we were able to go in. The hotel is also very convenient to the boardwalk and the beach. We visited other hotels/motels where friends were staying, and found them to be run-down, musty, and dirty. My admittedly spoiled and very picky 12-year old daughter loved our room, the pool, and, of course, the gift shop. The pan american exceeded my expectations for a beachfront hotel and we will return.

Id Rather Stay In A Tent!

What a disaster! We checked in on a sunday for 1 week. I had 3 experiences that were so unbelievable that almost considered not writting this review. First there was a guests small son who ran down the hall every nite and emptied his dirty diaper on the rug! This continued for 4 nites ! His family thought it was "cute"! It only stopped when he got sick and was confined to his playpen. Second, we went for a walk early in the morning and found a woman shaving her armpits in the pool! She looked right at us and said she had permission to bathe there due to her shower problems. As if this were not enough, our final day there during check out, the maid removed the towels and toilet paper from the bathroom exactly at 11am, she said that it was time to check out and that if we needed a toilet or shower we should think about going for a swim in the ocean....no kidding! I really think the pow's had it better!

It Was Worth The Loss
By Anonymous on Monday, June 12, 2006

Visitor Review
We have been trying for a few years now to find a decent hotel in wildwood and that is not an easy feat we called it "the best of the worst search". This year we had booked what was advertised and the newest hotel in wildwood (the colleisum) and if that is new i would hate to see their verison of old. We checked in and went to our rooms only to find the tinyest bathroom i had ever seen in my life, myself (135 lbs) and my 4 yr old daughter could not fit in it at the same time. The rooms are awefull. Well we stayed the night and the following morning went out to search for a nice place to eat breakfast and ran across the alosi's bistro which was connected to the pan american hotel. The restaurant was very nice and bright and clean and the food was delicious. It also overlooked the lovely pool. Right afterward we went to the front desk and explained our dislike for the colleisum and several other hotels we had stayed at in wildwood and immediatly they (the pan american hotel staff) had the head housekeeper show us one of their rooms. Very clean, spacious and quiet. The halls and very clean and i like the fact the the doors to the rooms are inside vs. Outside. I find a sense of security with that. I was happy to see a nice place to stay since we go to wildwood at least twice a year. The staff is very welcoming, warm and friendly. Well we immediately booked a room and went and packed our bags and left the colleisum. Of course they wouldn't give us any type of refund but it was worth the loss. Thank you pan american and staff. We have now found our hotel each time we visit.

A Good Hotel

We stayed there for a weekend in june 2005. Overall it was a good hotel. The person checking us in was very friendly and that set the tone for the entire stay. The location is great, just right off the beach. The pool is excellent. The rooms were comfortable and clean and appeared to be newly renovated. I do have one complaint, which is not the fault of the motel. We stayed in a room on the north side of the hotel. There is a municipal basketball court across the street and people were playing at all hours of the night and morning. At 6am on a sunday morning, i was woken up by the sound of a bouncing basketball. If you are staying here, make sure that you get a room on the beach or south side of the hotel. The owners of the hotel need to do something about this. I would have given the hotel an "excellent" review instead of "above average" had it not been for this. Overall it was a pleasant experience. We would stay here again.

A Yearly Tradition
By Anonymous on Monday, June 12, 2006

Visitor Review
We just returned a few weeks ago from a weekend at the pan american - 7/8-10. This seems to have become a tradition as this was our 13th year staying here. We have always found the rooms and property clean and the staff extremely helpful and pleasant. I am very surprised at one of the reviews posted and the unfortunate events that took place. We have never experienced anything even remotely similiar as to what they had happen during their stay. You just can't account for some people's rude behaviour and lack of consideration for other guests.

Plesently Suprised

Just returned from a stay at the pan american 7/27-7/30. I have read the reviews and wanted to stay at a quality hotel in the crest. I have been to wildwood several times over the last few years and every place was the same, old, run down, musty smell, basically a typical jersey shore motel. I was determined to change all that this year and boy I was not disapointed. The staff was friendly and to my surprise it turned out to be a really nice hotel. My room was a recently renovated room and for wildwood you thought you were in a hilton or marriott. The pool was huge for wildwood and was heated to boot. The location to the boardwalk was a few blocks away with alot to do around the area. I was traveling with myself, my wife, and 5 year old and would highly recomend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the area. We already booked our stay for next year.

The Greatest Hotel In Wildwood Crest!
By Anonymous on Monday, June 12, 2006

Visitor Review
The pan american hotel is the greatest hotel in wildwood crest ever! I know most people always say that about every hotel/motel that they stay in but this one was real, it was the greatest! There are no negatives about this hotel, so on with the review! I stayed here with my family for 3 nights & four days and they were the best three nights & four days we have ever spend in a hotel. When we were driving to the pan american hotel we were a little nervous about how the accommodations would be. Usually almost every hotel/motel in wildwood are the same. Run-down, old, musty and mean/rude staff. Well not this one! When arrived the outside of the hotel was gorgeous! We saw the pool area, the biggest, cleanest, most well taken care of pool in wildwood crest! (heated too!) When we arrived in the hotel lobby it was so beautiful, clean and air-conditioned! The hotel staff was so nice, polite and friendly as ever! The pan american hotel elevator was the nicest, cleanest elevator in wildwood crest! Nice and fast also. The room we had was on the fourth floor and that appeared to be the top floor because that's all it went up to in the elevator. The hotel hallways were so beautiful! The doors had a nice painted diamond theme on it and the room number was over a pretty little sun design. Everything appeared to be this beautiful diamond theme! (so cute!) Even the littlest things like the lights in the hallways were wonderful! We booked a type "a" room and efficiency suite, type "c." both rooms were faboulas the moment we walked in. I didn't smell or anything! So spacious clean and just plain beautiful! We wanted and oceanfront but that's ok, we had the view of the basketball court but along with that we had an ocean view of the ocean, so that was wonderful! The bathroom in type "c" was much bigger and better than the one in type "a." type "a's" bathroom was just a little too small but it was still great! The entire hotel's in wildwood crest give soap, that's nice. This hotel gave much nicer soap, cleaner more well packaged soap! (yes we make a big deal about the soap!). Along with soap they give you shampoo!!!!!!! Not one hotel in wildwood crest does that! Not even that port royal! You feel like you are in a hilton or something the way you are being treated here! Shampoo, nice, better soap and lots of nice towels, big and small. Speaking of towels they give you towels at the pool! How nice is that?! Even the lounge chairs at the pool are clean and very nice because they have padding on them! That port royal which says that it's so great (not!) Doesn't even do that! The day we had to leave the pan american hotel was hard because we were having so much fun feeling like kings and queens! Check out was very good, polite, caring and nice there too! We are most defiantly staying here next year and pretty much for a while because it's such as wonderful hotel! We have already booked and scheduled our stay for next year! Stay at the pan american hotel, if you don't your missing out on a hilton hotel jr.! Greatest hotel in wildwood crest!!!!! Believe me! :)

Best Hotel In The Wildwoods
By Anonymous on Monday, June 12, 2006

Visitor Review
We stayed in several different hotels in wildwood crest where the rooms were over priced, cramped and not very well maintained. The owners showed little interest in making one comfortable just collecting the rent and making sure you left a deposit for the keys. The pan american is well maintained, continually upgraded and provides value for the price paid. The owners care for their customers and make you fell like one of the family. They are extremely kid friendly and go out of their way to accommodate their customers. We have been going back there now for the last 5 years and plan to continue to make the pan american our "summer home".

Recommend It

My wife and I spent a weekend at the pan american in october. We were pleasantly surprised what we received for the price. Although we were not ocean front, we had a great view of the beach. When we first stepped in the lobby we noticed how updated and well maintained the hotel was. The feeling continued when we entered the room. The bathroom was small, but that was to be expected due to the age of the hotel, but the room itself was adequate for two people. All staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who asked.
