This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed atg. The service is amazing. There is no other place to stay. The beer never runs oujt and the pool is the place to spend your trip. The alcohol is plentyful and the management is spetacular. Never a dull moment in this place. The management is so friendly and they have a very big tolerance for drunks like us. They can tolerate anyone. Anyone. No joke. There has never been a binge like this. Anchor motel is number 1. Ask for rupal or j.d. no not jack daniels u drunk. Anyways come to anchor motel and u will have the time of your life, that is if u make it out alive.fear and loathing in the anchor motel. I love this place have a nice day

Great Economy Motel

This small motel was a great treat for our first visit to seaside heights. We stayed for 3 nights. The motel is clean, bedding is excellent. They use "100% cotton" pillowcases that are soft. Beds are comfortable. We were 3 adults and two children. The room had 2 double beds. When our 5 yr. Old complained about having to sleep on the floor in his sleeping bag, we asked to rent a cot. Since the management was short on cots, they offered to move us to a suite, which had 3 double beds. The small, additional cost was well worth it. Everyone got a good nights sleep. The motel is 1 - 1/2 long blocks to the boardwalk -- an easy walk for young people. We older folks wished the motel was a little closer to the boardwalk, but the cost of motels that are closer are very high priced. The management (father and son), are the sweetest, kindest people -- we have never been treated with such courtesy and care. They are good family people who like to make their guests as comfortable as possible. I'd go back any time.

My friends and i just came back from the anchor motel, and will not be using this motel again. When we arrived there was an odor in the room and we had to leave the windows and door open to clear the smell. The bathroom was disgusting and small. I was afraid to step on the floor it was so dirty. And don't try and sleep at night if someone is above you. The family above us was up to 2 or 3 in the morning and normally i wouldnt care, but i heard every footstep they made as they walked/ran on the floor above us. I was so tired the next day that i had to sleep during the day when they were out. They also failed to clean the room/make the beds/change the towels the time we were there. Now some people will say that this is beach mote, and you shouldnt expect it to be a four star hotel, however, they sure do charge a four star price, almost $400 dollars for two nights. If you are going to pay this much dont make the same mistake and try somewhere else. Needless to say we will not stay there again.

Never Again

My friends and i have ritualistically made summer excursions to the jersey shore knowing that we can find good times while on a college budget. In our travels to the shore we graced the anchor motel with our presence in 2004 and 2005. Despite its location two blocks from the beach, we found the facilities poor at best, but hey we weren't expecting the hotel california. For us the whole point of going away is to have a great time and consume mammoth amounts of spirits that eventually made this hovel we were staying at look like the ritz carlton. During our three day bender in 2004 we found the staff to be far from charming and more occupied with pestering us about our conduct. Making an executive decision is a key part of management. For example (asking us to leave), instead they keep your security deposit and fabricate room damages for extra capital. In our second trip to the anchor motel we requested the same room 16 which is the eight person suit we occupied the year before. There was great evidence of crude penny-pinching from our deposits/damage charges from our prior stay. We were overwhelmed, from the dilapidated state of the rooms, the wretched plumbing (we reported our bath tap as not functioning and the kitchen faucet as functioning under the cabinet as opposed to the sink), and the most noted abomination however was the couch which looked like it was set ablaze at one time! Management was remotely 'hands-off', elicited not the slightest interest in its customers' well-being or otherwise. The only time management appeared to be solely motivated was through verbal abuse and telling its guests what they could and could not do. On the anchor motels website there is a picture of a pool, don't be fooled its not in ground, barley chlorinated, and the broken down liner has so many waves it will likely taint you with ominous infections. In short the anchor motel is one of the worst maintained and managed hotels we have found in seaside heights. If you don't want to be ripped off and picked clean, do not go there. This is a management that does not deserve to be in business.
