Bait and Switch!

Visitor Review
My daughter took me, her 8 month old baby, and my mother on vacation for a couple days to watson's regency. When we arrived on friday, the room was beautiful. Very large, the service good. She was told in advance we would have to move to another room the next day which was okay but it was really a pain in the neck! We lost the morning on the beach and were really disgusted.. Anyway, when she came back from getting the key to the new suite she had a funny look on her face and told us she really liked the first room better. We packed and packed and moved and moved to another floor..and another suite..it took over an hour..we were completely drained and when we got to the suite...what a surprise! It was half the size of the one we originally rented! What a disappointment!! My mother and i didn't want to say much so as not to upset my daughter since we could see she was claerly upset already..she asked us not to mention the move or the room because she didn't want to discuss it and ruin our whole vacation..we all stayed quiet for the rest of our stay and just fumed in our misery..when i awoke today i called the hotel to discuss this with the manager..she informed me that the suite was the same size which is a lie since we had no dining room in the second suite! She said we should have said something when we saw the room and they could have tried to fix it and would not give a rate adjustment since we already left..i am going to take this to a consumer fraud person and let people know what a rip off the watson's regency really is.. I am sure there are other people they have done this to and been getting away with it..i call it bait and switch! They advertise a large suite...tell you you have to move to another suite and give you a rinky dink little place to spend the rest of your vacation...being miserable! This place sucks!

Not A Great Night
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

When planning our trip to watsons, we requested a non smoking room. The smell of smoke was so strong that I needed to even wash the clothes I did not wear. The jacuzzi was cold and the people upstairs where extremely noisy. It was the way off season (february) and there was no reason for us to have been put in the room we were in. I sent a complaint in writing to the hotel and receive no response at all!

Always A Pleasure

My family and I have had many pleasant visits to watsons regency suites. We often take mini vacations throughout the year and watsons is our first best choice. The rooms are immaculate and spacious. The kitchens are well supplied and i"ve never been reluctant to use the dishes, utensils, etc. My three boys just love the indoor heated pool and spa. We always stay on a non- smoking floor so that's never a problem.the rooms are somewhat pricey and I am usually thrifty.however, knowing we will always be satisfied is well worth the extra money.

Loved The Watson'S!

I was extremely impressed with watson's regency suites. I stayed there in the heat of the summer so I was not expecting much one-on-one attention. Wrong! Everyone at the front desk was pleasant from check-in to check-out. As soon as we arrived a young gentleman jumped up to help us with our luggage. The room was spacious and tidy. My kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub. The location was perfect! We could easily walk to the beach or shopping areas. I think the watson's staff should pat themselves on the back for a job well done. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

From the moment we pulled into off street covered parking with luggage carts. I was sure this was going to be a pleasant experience. We checked in had a very large room not a suite but it could have been. All the items you could possibly need. The pool and hot tub was just right with the temps. You are walking distance to everything from resturants to grocery stores, from the beach to the rides. They even had free friday night chair massages and a free morning paper! They offered local discounts to video stores and resturants. The front desk and housekeeping always had a hello and a smile.

Bed Bugs..Ugh!!!!

3nt-4 day stay--1st the pool was very cold!! Thank goodness for the hot tub to keep the kids occupied when we were not soaking up the sun at the beach...which was the best part of the trip and the boardwalk and rides for the kids! The 1st night I felt something crawling on me in the middle of the night..a little bug...thought it was brought in from the outside...no big deal..i did request for my bedding to be changed though just in case!! The next night..same thing..and I thought something seemed "buggy", so I started searching at 2 am..too find these same little bugs crawling in new bedding threads under the blanket..ugh..i complained and showed proof to the front desk who immediately called management and had my entire stay..$795.97 refunded..we packed up the kids, checked into the biscayne suites (very nice I might add), and headed out and will not be returning !!!!!!!!

I just wanted to voice my opinion of the watsons regency suites, we had a wonderful time. We have been coming to ocean city for many years and love the resort. The suites at watsons were perfect for our needs , especailly the full kitchen which helps when you have kids. Also the indoor pool came in real handy since the weather was not great. The heated pool and the spa were extremely relaxing. Thansk had a great time.

What a wonderful weekend! We came to ocean city for a wedding and had a tremendous time. Weather was superb. Watsons regency suites made our stay memorable. Beautiful luxury suites, full kitchens to entertain family members and the kids loved the heated indoor pool. It was nice that the adults could visit and the kids could go to the pool. The staff was great, very friendly and extremely clean. I would definitely recommend you stay at that the watsons's regency suites. Thank you for letting me voice my opinion.

Great Place To Stay
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

My family and i stayed at this establishment last year (a week in early july) and we were so pleased. The staff was extremely helpful and the rooms are great - originally a condo, transformed into a hotel. All rooms are identical (check out the website for specs). Some rooms face outside, while others face the pool. Our room faced the pool on the second floor - which was convenient because we had a sleeping 2-year old but this coming year, we decided to get an outside balcony, simply to get some fresh air. The indoor pool is nice (especially if you get too much sun outside or if it rains) and the whirlpool is fine. The hotel is very conveniently located close to the beach and every morning i'd walk down to jog on the boardwalk. The suite itself has a nice kitchen with all appliances, pots/pans, dishes, silverware, dishwasher, etc. We checked out a couple other hotels close by but were very glad we chose this one. Highly recommended.

Great for Small Families
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Nice location. A (long) block away from the beach/boardwalk. You are in the center of the boardwalk action. Spacious enough for small families. We had our third child in a pack-and-play, but would not try to use both pull-out beds in the living room area for us and him now that he is out of a crib. It was nice to have an in-door pool for the rainy day. The pool was very dirty though, with sand all over the bottom on both days we used it. Some of the bedding was dirty (food encrusted and a long hair under the sheets/on pillowcase). The service desk was friendly and helpful. Overall, we were happy with our experience and would return to this facility if we had a smaller family.

This is our favorite place to stay in ocean city, nj. The suites are very nice, always clean, comfortable, and very attractive. The kitchens always have everthing we need and we love the indoor pool and jacuzzi!!! And we especially love the location right at 9th st and ocean, just off the boardwalk!!! When we stay over the 4th, we always take a suite on 9th street side so that we can watch the fireworks on the beach from our hotel balcony....i would recommend the watson's to anyone...great place to stay!

The Only Place To Stay In Ocean City
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
We have been going to watson's for five years now. Our kids love it because of the location. We are within walking distance of everything that they want to do. I love the cleanliness and size of the suite. There is plenty of room for all five of us. The staff is great. It seems to be the same people year after. Its nice when hotel staff remembers who you are. I called after reading the review about getting a normal room, the hotel staff assured me that every room is a suite. There are no normal hotel rooms. Our favorite place to stay.

Don'T Bother
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
A bunch of my friends and our families all decided to go to watson's for the president's day special (reduced rate for 3 nights). There were 3 sets of families all in different rooms. We figured it would be a great place to go in the winter so the kids could swim in the so called heated pool and the adults could relax in the "hot" tub. When we got there on friday evening, there were two women at the desk, both of which were not the friendliest! We checked in and went up to our room. The room was ok, it was a little chilly all weekend, even though i kept pushing up the heat. It was clean enough, except the sauce stain on the comment card. My family and i got unpacked and i met the rest of my friends and their families at the pool-only to discover it was sooo cold, and the hot tub was like bath water. The pool was so cold that my child had blue lips within 10 minutes. I don't know what their idea of heated is, but i don't think we share the same idea. The next day i went down to the desk (this time the person was pleasant) and i complained about the pool being too cold and the hot tub being like bath water, not hot. She told me the red switch was turned off accidentally, and that was the reason why. Sunday's day at the pool was much the same.... Monday, we had late check-out (6pm). The electronic key stopped working by early afternoon. My one friend had to go get hers redone. The cable went out around noon-supposedly it was due to outage at the cable company. When i checked out i informed the miserable girl at the desk that i was not happy, pool was cold, hot tub was cold, etc. She informed me that she checked the pool and it was 86 degrees. Of course she checked it in the middle of the day, when the sun was shining down. I still don't believe it was that warm and i told her i thought her thermometer was broken. She just kinda glared at me. I also complained about the hot tub being cold friday and sunday night. She informed me that didn't i know that it went down to 8 degrees on sunday night and that is the reason the hot tub was cold. All the people i know that have hot tubs in their back yards usually use them when the weather is cold, that is what makes it so enjoyable. Oh, and did i mention that my friends had to shower in another room the last two days we were there, since their pipes in the bathroom froze? They were told that the tape that warms the pipes malfunctioned! Please don't waste your money. They don't seem to care if you have a happy stay or not.

The watson was a very loud hotel. There were people running up and down the hallways at 12 o'clock at night. The hotel did not do anything about it. We do not plan on going back to this hotel.

Great Hotel Made My Vacation
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

I'm pretty picky with hotels. So much so, that in my 30 plus years of traveling, I have yet to go to the same hotel twice. But watson's regency was perfect. Rooms could not be any cleaner (and I closely inspected), the staff is friendly and courteous, the 1 bedroom suite I was in was very roomy with a great big, immaculate bathroom. Even the decor was very pretty-pastel colors with furniture that did not show any wear. Will be back in 2006!.

Not Happy
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
My family has been going to Watson's for about fives years and it has been getting worse over the last three years. To start with the pool is to cold. It is supposed to be an indoor/heated pool. It is in doors, but, not heated well. To the point that the kids would rather be in the hot tub. We just come home from there and even the hot tub was not hot enough. My review would have been a little better if were not for the teatment of the staff. When we tried to tell them about the pool and hot tub, we were told it was because the tempature dropped to 8 degrees outside the previous night. What this has to do it I don't know. The Maintnance man had the never to have an attitude and said "First off, the hot tub should only have 6 people in it and secondly it is not a kiddy pool!" Well, if the pool was warm enough than the kids would not be in the hot tub. Lastly, I recommended this hotel to two of my friends who accompanied us this visit along with their families. One family's tub would not drain and when they called the head of maintnance and he did not call back, the girl at the desk refused to try to reach him again. Needless to say they may not see our business again. This maked me sad becuase if it were not for these things it would be a great place for vacation.

We Love Watson'S
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
We have been staying at watson's for about three years. Although there have been minor problems, maintainence has always fixed the problems. This last visit, our dishwasher broke half way through our stay, and it couldn't be fixed right away. We were told that house keeping would gladly wash the dishes for us. Our kids love the pool, especially since it is open until 10 pm. The location is perfect. The staff is very friendly. They seem to keep alot of the same people, because one of the girls who work the desk, has been there all along, super friendly, and helpful. Our stay in 2004, my husbands glasses broke, and they directed us to an optician close by, to help him. Could have ruined the vacation. We are already booked for june 2006.
