Florentine is about a block from the boardwalk and it is couple / family friendly. The atmosphere is nice and it is clean. There is a nice ice cream shop down the street called Hassel''s that you can visit before heading home for the night. I have stayed at the Florentine before, maybe it is because I am getting older, but the beds are very uncomfortable and feel like sleeping on a board. I wish they would upgrade the beds because my back felt terrible after sleeping there. Also they Florentine only caters to adult couples and families only. I would have invited the rest of my family down, but they made it clear that it was families and couples only. I imagine it is meant to keep out the rowdies, but for unconventional families parents may have passed away, or are not well enough to go down the shore. If you are looking for something close and family friendly this place may be for you. I think next year I will try a different place and see if I can find a place that will allow my brothers and sisters to stay with us.

The Florentine IS WORTH THE TRIP

After 6 yrs always looking forward to returning . Motel is very clean with many new upgrades every year I return. This year many rooms included flat screen TV''s, bed coverings, bathroon cabinets and faucets . Outside new patio chairs , table umbrellas , BBQ grills . The friendly staff is always there to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible from the Good Place To Eat , to fixing a broken doorknob at 11pm all you need to do is ask ! Best part is park the car for the weekend and everything is walking distance away. Boardwalk/beach 1 block, breakfast/dinner 2 blocks, Motel pool outside your door !!! Hurry and book today and receive coupons/discounts to many of the best places in the Wildwoods. I am looking forward to my next stay !

Florentine Motel is Pretty Good

I have to preface this by saying I called to make a reservation at The Florentine at the last minute- about 3 days prior to our arrival. They had only one room left and based upon the excellent trip advior reviews we decided to take it. The good - yes - the motel is very clean. The front desk staff is friendly - Joanne was very sweet at all times. They accept Amex - another plus. The motel is located about 2 blocks walking distance from the beach and boardwalk. The not so good: Our room was very small. All they had available was a motel room with a queen bed. The bed was uncomfortable and we mentioned this - I was told at check out that they put an eggcrate foam in it to help make it more comfortable on our second night - neither my husband or myself perceived the difference but that was nice of them to try to help us out. The not so good: The room was somewhat dark. I think maybe another lamp might have helped. Also- not a large window and the view we had was of the street. The bathroom was very clean but again very tight. The pool was nice- a bit small but did the trick after returning from the beach on a hot day. The not so good for US part: I should have researched the area more - after seeing Wildwood Crest I think that area is better for people who love the beach. You can pick a hotel right on the beach with ocean views - and you don''t have to walk under a dark boardwalk to ge there. Next time we go I think the Crest is where we will stay. The beach near the Florentine was fine but I was not thrilled with walking under the dark boards to get to it. For families with kids that want to be close to the amusement piers this hotel is fine. Just make sure you do get a room large enough where you will be comfortable and book in advance in peak season! PS - Had breakfast at Flip Flops - awful scrambled eggs- they were cooked on a flattop in oil, the hash browns were from freezer to deep fryer and tasted of old oil - the server was wonderfully cheerful - they are lucky to have her in the front of the house. Had breakfast at Vegas Diner - wonderful food - eggs were delicious, real rye toast, great staff and decent prices - not far from Florentine.

We stayed from July 12th-16thMon-Fri The people at the office were knowledgeable, nice, funny and professional. We stayed in the Combo room and the room was cleaned and replenished with all bathroom amenities, every morning. When I bought tickets to the 2 water parks and amusement rides they explained everything and even recommended what tickets were cheaper to buy on the boardwalk. You could even buy ICE at the office. This was a great experience and we will stay at the Florentine Motel again and we will recommend the Florentine Motel to others.

My daughter and I stayed at the Florentine Memorial Day Weekend. I wanted a clean, safe, family oriented motel close to the boardwalk with no craziness or wild guests. I also didnt want my daughter traveling far to hit the rides and games or beach. This was our first time at the Florentine and our first time in Wildwood in years. Not only did Carol, George and everyone make us feel at home, they treated us like family. Our maid Patty was wonderful. Our room was also perfect when we came back from the board walk or going out. The staff is outstanding. We always felt safe there. You would think we stayed there several times not for the first time. From food recommendations to coffee each morning everything is just excellent. We arrived very late due to my daughters classes ending late that Friday and they called us to make sure we were coming since we were so late. Any other place would have just rented out our room on a holiday weekend. The rooms were great for us. They were roomy, immaculate, and comfortable. I actually slept better there then at home. Anything you need they will help you with. I highly recommend this motel to anyone that wants a nice, safe, family -oriented place to spend their summer vacations. The location is perfect, the price is right and the staff and owners are great. We are going back 4th of July and Labor Day also since my daughter cannot get off during the week. Cant wait to go back and just relax at the pool.

Great Place To Stay

We decided to take a few days off and go to wildwood to celebrate father's day. The last time I went to wildwood was 20 years ago. That was a horrible experience, so I was a bit nervous about this mini vacation. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean, and I mean clean everything was. We rented the combo room which is actually 2 rooms that are connected. The beds were comfortable. This room had two full bathrooms in it! You are 1 block away from the beach. There is nothing negative that I can say about this motel. The only thing I would change would be a bigger pool. Other than that I give this place 2 thumbs up!!!!!

I have been coming to this hotel for 3 summers the hotel is wonderful its convenient to everything its clean and pretty but the owners are not very friendly and they dont treat you like a regular when you infact are. So unfortunatly I wont be coming back there anymore because of there attitude towards me and there prices are pretty expensive.

The room was very clean. The owners were very friendly and extremely helpful. The whole motel was kept clean on a daily basis. We loved this motel. It was close enough to the beach that we collected shells every day. We will definetly be returning to the florentine. We loved it!
