Nightmare

We stayed here last summer & the room service was awful & the staff was not polite. The bartenders were not very nice also. But the worst problem was that our room was right over the night club which we were not told of over the phone, so we paid top dollar to have loud music blasting through our rooms at night! We did not get any sleep for a couple of nights. I then spoke to the manager who was this older gentleman (& I use that term very lightly) & he became very confrontational to both me & my fiancee. I have to say that this may be the worst hotel experiences that I have even been through! We will never go back to this place again!

Bring Earplugs To The Pool (Not for The Water, But for The Noise)

The outside music was so loud, if you want to enjoy the pool, forget it. You could not stand the blaring music, well into the night.

Good Enough for Young Kids

We are a family with two young children (under 5) and stayed at the motel last year. The pluses for families with young children were the proximity to the beach and the heated pool. The restaurant was also quite good, and we were able to eat on a small terrace outside the restaurant, which allowed the kids to roam around more than if we had been inside.

Kudos for New Sea Shell

We just stayed at the newly renovated sea shell and loved it. We have stayed there in the past and always had a great time. This year they renovated the motel rooms to reflect a caribbean motif. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The pool area and two restaurants are great. They do have a nightclub, so certain nights there is live music, ask the front desk to be away from the bands if you do not want to be disturbed.

Just A Great Time

The person who gave this a low score seems a little grumpy and out of touch. First of all - this is definitely a summer place. Summer is a time for fun, laughs, beach, drinks and just plain good times - and the seashell is one of the best places on lbi. I go there every year and I can tell you that some of my best memories are at the seashell. They have a great happy hour on saturdays... Although it does get packed.. It is over by 7:30 - 8:00. No big deal. The kids usually love the band that plays at the pool ... And everyone is just happy and having a good time.
