Gross Motel!
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
My family and i had stayed at the oceanview 12 years ago and had found it to be a fun place for our family to vacation so we decided to stay there when we went to wildwood this year. We were totally shocked, to say the very least. The rooms had not been updated since our last visit and the mold and mildew was disgusting! The carpet was torn up, the phone was not plugged in and we could not find a jack to plug it into. The rust in the bathroom was overwhelmingly gross.the refridgerator was dirty as well. My daughter has asthma and needed to use her inhaler every day while we were there. We had to pay a deposit for keys/remote controls/golf clubs and balls. The "lifeguard" at the pool was clearly biased. A few kids were allowed to have balls in the pool, but others were not. The front desk refused to give quarters for their own laundry room, so we had to walk to another motel nearby to get them. Other patrons of the hotel played loud music all night long. When our family members joined us a few days later, we had warned them about the room conditions. We were really shocked when they checked in and their room was gorgeous. We both paid the same price, and theirs was spotless and newly remodeled. Several people sat around the pool area and discussed how everyone should complain about this hotel and the prices they charge for such bad service. However, it is clear that the hotel management does not care at all when their patrons complain.

What A Motel
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

This is the best mote I have ever stayed in. And I have been coming to wildwood for over 15 years. This is proboboaly the best motel for children over 9. Also the staff is excellent. They have contests for the kids and adults. Finally it is the best view on the beach and has bike rentals next door. So I would reccomend staying at the motel.

This hotel is not represented on line as it is in person. Is the worst hotel that I have ever made resevations at from on line. Dirty, filthy, paint chipping, mildew, dirty mirrors.

Dump and Ripoff..Don'T Be Fooled
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
Don't be fooled by the picture of what was probably a room dressed up to be posted on the web. The rooms are ugly dirty and smelly, the paint is chipping and you can clearly see the mildew in the room and the rust in the bathroom, the air conditioner was noisy. The furniture is uncomfortable. If you have children, beware of the wobbly balcony rails that probably wouldn't support anyone who leaned on them. The pool was ok but the ph level must have been unbalanced because it was burning my kids' eyes. I was very upset with what we got for the amount of money we paid. There are some really good nearby motels with the same view of the ocean (you know the one that they claim to be the only one to have) and they don't charge as much money and have all of the same amenities. One of the women at the front desk was arrogant. There is no lifeguard at the pool as they show in the photo. They do offer activities for the kids but you need to give a deposit for the mini golf clubs and balls. The attitude in the office is not friendly. I can't believe they can get away with ripping people off like this. I feel really sorry for tourists who come from a far distance and wind up with a bad impression of wildwood or for the families who can only afford to go one time and wind up there thinking that they are going to be stayin at a nice place. Do yourself a favor and check the other resort motels in the crest.

Had A Great Time!

After reading some of the reviews prior to our trip, I was a bit skeptical of the hotel. As soon as we arrived and entered the motel lobby to check in , I knew everything would be ok. The lobby was clean and bright and the staff was lovely. Yes, you have to give a $20 deposit for room key and remote and $11 deposit for golf club and ball, but you get it back when you return everything. No big deal. Actually I liked the idea the I would get $31 back at the end of my stay! Our room was an efficiency. It was very clean. We were on the 4th floor overlooking the pool with a side view of the ocean. It was wonderful. At night we would sit on the balcony and enjoy the peace and quiet. Great stuff for the kids to do during the day and right on the beach. Who could ask for more. I would definetly stay there again.

Absolutely Appalling

I cannot begin to describe how disgusted I was with this motel. The hotel clearly does nothing in terms of upkeep, with ratty, paper-thin towels and random mysterious stains all over the furniture, bed, carpet, and bathroom. I felt frightened and unsafe staying there, and wanted nothing more than to be disinfected upon leaving. If you value your safety and have even the slightest expectation for cleanliness, stay away!!!! If there was a rating below "terrible", this hotel would earn it.

Staying In A Sewer Would Be Nicer
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
As soon as we arrived my youngest child went to the bathroom. Needless to say there was poop on top of poop and the bathroom looked like it wasn't cleaned in weeks. This bathroom was next to the lobby. I must say this was the highlight of my stay as it all went downhill from there. When my wife complained the hotel staff faked not knowing the english language. Upon arrival the room they gave us was a pig sty, with dirt everywhere. My wife is allergic to dust and felt ill all week. One day they even forgot to make up the room and I had to ask them three times to please make the room up. This place is a disaster and should be torn down immediately or at least condemned by the board of health. Do not and I repeat do not stay at this hotel if you value your sanity.

As Expected for A Wildwood Crest Motel
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
Just returned from a stay here....i think most travellers to this area would have the same comments: paid way too much for the quality of the hotel. Our rate was $180 for a 2 bedroom suite, but with all the nj taxes, that came to just over $200/night for a rundown, musty and moldy smelly room. Fairly clean, but a strong urine smell in the bathroom that we realized was just coming up from the toilet, not from lack of cleaning?? A man was coming out of our room 1 day, had just painted 1 wall in a bedroom for us, so what he did basically was paint over the mold that was present? I think the closeness to the ocean prevents any of these hotels from getting rid of that musty smell. I could have stayed somewhere very luxurious for what we paid here! Like the grand floridian at disney! Every time we go, i say never again but we do. Any comments on the sand castle? It looked pretty good and only another block down south from this one. We saw 1 open door and the room looked pretty okay. We were amazed at the hotels and restaurants that were gone on this trip, the captain's table for one, and how they were being replaced with condos that start at $1.5 million?!?!?!? Who's going to pay that to buy something in wildwood!?!?!? Any comments on this changing trend???!!!

Absolutely Horrible

I would not recommend this hotel. The tv in my room was all static and did not work at all. The air conditioner dripped water all over all of my clothes that I had packed for the week. This hotel is so faraway from the boardwalk. It would take probably around an hour to walk to the boardwalk. The pool was ok. The worst thing was people would be playing miniature golf at 1 in the morning and the police had to come to the floor above us because some guys had gotten rowdy. Overall this hotel stunk.

Renting As A Hotel Isn'T The Same As Exchanging
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
Renting a 2 bed 2 bath unit is not the same as asking a timeshare exchange company (like interval international) for an exchange. They attempt to treat an exchange as a like for like. Seaview is a 5 star unit with red weeks most of the year. An exchange might be possible if your unit matched those at seaview.

Family Loved It
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Our family stayed in a 2 bedroom condo in feb 2005. The place was amazing. Basically you have the older hotel (which rents rooms) and just down the road is the condo buildings. Although its technically connected on one large resort layout ...the condos look brand new and are hugh. Parking for the condos is right outside the building. The hotel is an older large building that was purchased by marriott to make the resort. Although anyone staying at the hotel or the condos can use all the facilities ...its a little walk from the hotel to the condos - there is a shuttle to get you back and forth if you want. Near the condo's is a large indoor pool and a great spa. There is also outdoor pools for seasonal (non-winter) use. Two golf courses with practice areas. There were some planned daily events the week we were there ..not a lot ..but a few things for adults and kids to sign up for if interested.

Loved It

Having had a great time at the seaview resort (the old hotel in the same complex) last year, we decided to give the villas a shot this year. For the same price as a standard room at the hotel, we got the villa--two bedrooms separated by a huge full kitchen/living room/dining room area, two baths (huge whirlpool tub in the master), screened in terrace. It overlooked the driving range and at night the ac skyline was visible in the distance (15 minute drive, tops). The pool was large and the marketplace shop had pretty much everything you could need. The villa and entire property were impeccably clean and well-maintained.

Great Villas, Great Spa.....Horrible Food!
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

My husband and I stayed at the fairway villas with my brother and sister-in-law for a couples getaway weekend. The villas were perfect for us. Huge kitchen, dining area, living room and two nice bedrooms and baths. The kitchen was stocked with every type of dish, pot, pan and appliance you could need. Nice laundry area with washer and dryer. Screened in outdoor patio. Nice, functional furnishings. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Particularly perfect for an extended stay with small children. Even the price was reasonable for mid-summer.

Wonderful Anniversary Getaway!
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Where do I begin? Since i'm a travel agent, I got a great deal on this location at a travel show - 4 days/3 nights for $99. Can't beat that. I got this package back in october. My anniversary is may 30th. It was a tuesday this year, so I booked our stay for sunday, may 28th - wednesday, may 31st. I didn't tell my husband that I booked it. It was a total surprise for him. Since it was memorial day weekend, I told him that we were going to a cookout at a friend's house that lives in jersey. I hadn't told my daughter about the trip b/c I knew she'd spill the beans. Halfway through the drive she says "mom how long until we get to the hotel?" I ignored her and so did my husband. Then 15 mins later, she asked again - so I had to tell him what the plans were. I had him scheduled to be off from work, and had packed bags for the 3 of use earlier that day (he was out running around).

The resort hotel is very impressive and checked me in very promptly, the doormen were very polite and helped us to unload and move the luggage to room, which was a huge room with many upgrades than normal luxuray hotels.

The place was awesome and the golfing wonderful. You are only 10 minutes from atlantic city if you like gambling and site seeing. Their adult only mineral pool was incredible as well as their spa. The condo's were new and very quiet. I would rate it a 10 out of 10!!

Didn'T Know It Was A Dry Town…
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 08, 2006

Visitor Review
Hotel was okay, nothing impressive, nothing really bad either. I would stay there again- it was a good deal. Right on the beach, beautiful views. Unfortunately if you are looking for anything else in the area, this isn't for you. There's a pancake house across the street and that's about it. I would have liked to know know that wildwood crest was a dry town before I went.
