Great Hotel & Staff

We just spent 12 days at the atlas inn, this was our third time. Before we went in the off season. We arrived way before check in time but got a pass to park and were told where to head to the changing rooms. We enjoyed the pool and the room was ready by 1:30 and they let us check in. We were one of about 20 people trying to check in early and no one gave us a hard time because we were there before check in. We had stayed at the grand last summer and got our heads bit off for the early arrival. At the atlas they were extremely busy with the phones, people leaving and others like us arriving early and we were treated pleasantly. Our room was nice, it was very clean and well stocked including the coffee pot which was a pleasant surprise! The housekeepers were friendly and accommodating and the free breakfast was very filling. The hallways and stairwells could be swept a little more but with all the people in and out, i guess it is pretty hard. We booked for next year when we left and found we had to change our week because the hotel was already full for the type of room and location we were looking for, no problem though we are all set and looking forward to a return trip.

Clean Rooms, Great Stay

We just got home yesterday from the atlas inn. Wow! What a stay! We had a suite on the oceanfront with cooking. We stayed on the third floor and looked directly out at the ocean. The room was spotless! Our maid, theresa really made us feel welcome and was happy to help us out when we needed an extra towel or two. Ask for her if you can. The front desk greeted us on check in & we even got in our room early with no hassle. The free breakfast is great! We booked for next year because people were booking for 2006 and 2007 for the summer. Can you believe it? What a great place for a family. When we booked, we took 4 rooms so our families could join us. We were speechless on check out when the girl bid us a safe trip and a healthy year. Nice to know that nice people, like those at the atlas exist!

A Great Beach Hotel....Great Location and View

We stayed at the atlas for our third time late august/early sept. We enjoy the location of the hotel and the beautiful view of the beach. They also have a great poolside bar where they can deliver lunch from the restaurant. The restaurant is great...food is excellent and the breakfast included with the hotel stay is fantastic. Would love to hear from the person who wrote the room 306 review as we were the next guests in that room and they evacuated us and moved us the a new hotel down the road and told us it was due to a plumbing issue.

Great Clean Hotel

We visited the atlas for the 4th time late august. Stayed in room 305. We did have a plumbing problem. We woke up and found our bathroom floor flooded and the carpet was soaked all the way out into the living, our bags got wet etc. We were also moved. When they went in to see the problem thru the trap door, they had a pretty big mess. Things break in hotels just like in your own home. I guss though i never thought about it. I am sorry the other guest had a problem with bugs but i can tell you, we had a water on the floor problem. The front desk was gracious, upset because they could not accommodate us at the inn. They treated us fairly giving us our money back. After moving to the other hotel we returned to the atlas and booked for next year. The room we stayed in was still under repair. At least they didn't make us stay or act like it was our fault. They were very kind. The room was clean, fresh and everyone of the staff was nice. Breakfast was awesome! Even after we moved, they let us return for the complimentary breakfast.

Excellent Family Hotel

This august will be my 4th consecutive year staying at the atlas. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else for a family vacation in cape may. It is the very best deal for a family room as close to the beach as possible. Its proximity to any cape may attractions makes it practical and convenient. The staff is polite and extremely accomodating. The rooms are certainly modern enough for their purpose, and they sparkle after the cleaning staff are through with them. The beds are comfortable, and if ever we've needed an extra pillow or blanket (or anything else), one request would have the staff acomodate us graciously. The ballpark cafe, which is the hotel's restaurant, provides a filling, made-to-order complimentary breakfast with lots of choices on the menu for all registered guests, as well as a fun, interesting atmosphere for all ages. None-registered patrons are of course welcome there also.

Good Family Hotel

My 2 children and I stayed here in june. Unfortunately, it was on two unusually cold and windy days, so there wasn't too much to do except take the children's trolley tour. We also did our laundry--loads cost $1.50 each. If its balmy, this would be a great place--i could hardly keep the kids out of the pool even with the low temps. The restaurant is a hoot--it has some great baseball memorabilia and an animated life size babe ruth that kept my kids entertained. It was really a treat to get a full hot breakfast each day. We stayed in a one-room suite that had two tv's and a small refrigerator. Old, but clean and a good amount of space. I'd love to come back when it was a good beach day.

Splendid Seashore Stay

Our first family trip to cape may was a delight in large part by staying at the atlas inn. One of the tallest hotels on cape may we enjoyed the ocean view from our 5th floor room. We had the efficiency suite and found it to be very clean, roomy, and comfortable. Pat, the atlas manager, deserves special recognition for her seasoned advice and big smile.

Awful Conditions

We took our family to cape may for a couple of days and decided to stay at the atlas inn. I was one floor my friends on second and another couple we know were on fifth floor. Check in was just awful, the woman was rude and seemed to try to ignore us. They put us on the third floor which the room was very clean and the view was beautiful, our housekeeper was friendly and very accommidating to us she went out of her way to make our stay pleasent, unlike the lobby! (she was wonderful if you do stay ask for her, theresa.) Our friends were not as luckywith there housekeepers, rooms were not very clean and girls seemed to have been taught the lobby's way of profession. The problems you will not appreciate are bathroom walls with rust that just need to be replaced not cleaned, broken walkway windows, vaccums so loud they will wake the dead and elevator that should not be used. I was very dissappointed in our stay and would reccomend the owners fix their building not blame their help which was the answer we received when we mentioned the walls and walkways. Oh forgot to mention bring your own pillows theres have just been washed over and over again rather than being replaced hard and lumpy to say the least!

Awful. Hotel needs a complete makeover. Not very clean and most areas have not been updated since very early 1970's. A big disappointment.
