Nice Getaway

We stayed for two nights at fairfield atlantic city in a one bedroom deluxe. I was quite concerned after reading some negative reviews, so we were pleasantly surprised (and i'm very picky – prefer marriott's – where I own - to most other places). This is a perfect place for families. It's fine for couples, but not luxurious. I'd prefer glitzier if I were just with my husband.

Great Base Spot

Three of us stayed two nights in this hotel, and we thought it was a terrific value. The two-double-bed room was spacious and clean, with nice, cold air-conditioning! It's not next to the beach, but the pool is very nice. It's a very brief drive (less than five minutes) to garage parking at some of the major ac casinos (we used the trump taj mahal) for gambling and beach/boardwalk access. Two quibbles: 1) the computer room almost always had a line; byo laptop! And 2) we checked in late on a sunday night and that took a considerable amount of time due to ... Staffing concerns, shall we say? When I walked in to check in, the sole desk employee was on the phone with a customer seeking info on her reservations. The employee did not acknowledge me or even make eye contact with me. A few minutes later, another employee arrived behind the desk -- and proceeded to first help a guest who had walked up after I did (he didn't ask who was first... Merely "may I help you, sir?" since i'm female, he certainly wasn't addressing me!). Other desk employees were much more attentive and gracious, however, so their professional behavior mitigated the sunday night crew's.

Beware of Rate Changes

Stayed here in october as part of a wedding party. Everyone was quoted an $89 rate when reservations were made months before but at checkout was charged $129. This included the entire group that stayed here for the wedding. Manager basically called us liars and told us that we were never quoted the lower rate despite the fact that everyone in the party had been given this rate. This rate was even quoted on emails some people had printed out. Dispute was only settled after calling marriot customer service and having a refund issued weeks later.

Would Not Honor Agreed Upon Price

My husband and I stayed at the marriot fairlfield as part of a wedding block. There were at least 7 other couples staying as well. We were all quoted the same price upon making reservations which were made at varying times within 3 months of our stay. When we went to check out we were given bills which were about $40 over the agreed upon amounts. The person at front desk could not resolve it so called a manager. The manager was rude and basically called us liars and would not believe the quote we had been given. Though we all had confirmation numbers only one of us had a print out of the confirmation e-mail. That couple did receive a refund.

I Enjoyed The Fairfield Inn Atlantic City North

This hotel to me was fine. I stayed here for one night from 12/9-12/10, because I was going to concert event at the borgota (an absolutely fabulous casino resort) that friday night, not far a way. I got a great aaa rate... I actually had a higher rate, but I called the marriot again before my check in date, and got much lower rate... I agree with the gentleman who said to get a king size bed. Our room was huge/spacious and everything was spotless.

I Can'T Believe These Reviews

I just stayed at this hotel since it was close to acy and I was flying out very early in the morning. I realize fairfield is the low level on the marriott scale but this place should not even have the marriott name on it. I thought my room was horrible. The mattress was downright scary and the toilet didn't even work right. I was only here to sleep for about 8 hours and I couldn't have gotten out of there faster. I'm not sure what the other reviewers were talking about but this place might have been one of the worst hotels i've ever stayed it. Just plain gross!!!!!

A Major Disappointment

We stayed at the fairfield inn on saturday, february 4, 2006. We stayed here because it was close to ac and we could not find a reasonable room on the boardwalk. I thought that because it was a mariott, it would be acceptable. I was mistaken.

Didn'T Have Any Major Problems
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
My husband and I stayed at the fairfield inn marriott this past weekend (2/19-20) because the casino hotels on the strip were ridiculously priced. When we arrived, we did not have a king bed or smoking room as requested, but it wasn't a big deal because the staff gave my husband an ashtray and allowed him to smoke in the room since they were booked and didn't have any smoking rooms available.

Such mixed reviews for this place. I stayed about ten hours and my room was fine and clean. Desk clerk checking me in at 2am was very helpful and fast. I had no problems and I travel all year long.
