Very Happy With Our Stay

This was perfect for our needs-cheap, clean, close to the boardwalk. For lower price go to their website to book it. From the moment we walked in, it was a good experience. I don't consider myself to be racist, but it was a plus that every clerk at the front desk spoke without a foreign accent, an oddity for a budget hotel in my experience, and we were acknowledged every time we left or entered the hotel. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable; we were able to relax in between jaunts out on the boardwalk. It's centrally placed on the boardwalk only a long block walk away, but not one you'd want to make by yourself late at night-but I suspect you wouldn't want to walk anywhere alone in atlantic city late at night. Of course cutting through the sands parking garage and casino would solve that problem! We usually did just walk the block up-easier than finding your way through the casinos! There were only 2 things about the hotel room that were very miner inconveniences-toilet pressure was low, solved by holding the handle until it emptied, and no fan in the bathroom-but also no noise of a fan to wake up your roomie if you had to get up to use the facilities! I would tell my friends and family to stay here-and i'd stay here if we go to a.c. Again.

I go to atlantic atleast once a year with a friend and we have stayed in different hotels and out of all the hotels that we stayed in that we could afford this was the best. It was clean and the staff was very nice and it is affordable close to the broadwalk. We are going to a.c. this weekend and this is were we are staying.i recommend this hotel.

Cheap, Clean Place To Crash
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
If you're being comped at a major hotel, or feel like treating yourself to one of them, no need to stay here. But if you don't need luxury or lots of amenities, but just need a cheap, clean place to crash, this place suited me just fine. You can walk to the boardwalk in under a minute. It is right next door to the sands casino. So while this place won't do for that romantic getaway, it is just fine for people who will be out all day at the beach or the casinos and just need a place to shower & crash.

Great Value

A few of my friends and I (college age) drove down to atlantic city for the first time...we didn't know what to expect but wanted 1. Cheap hotel 2. Safe 3. On the boardwalk/good location 4. Not shady or gross it's hard finding a place online but we finally came across the econo lodge and made a reservation for a really great deal..through their website. Much cheaper than other places. Location is right next to sands casino, and right on the boardwalk. It has a nice pool, rooms were very nice and clean...eveything was perfect for what we were looking for.the hotel staff was very friendly and gave us everything we needed. The only only thing I would recommend to visitors, is that you specifically ask the staff to not give out keys to your room if anyone asked. This is just an afterthought...one of our keys stopped working and we sent our guy friend down to pick up a new key...but was not prompted to present any id, just said, "I need a new key..." kind of scary if a person if not in your party!! But overall it was very safe, stick together after midnight if you are girls (at least 2 but probably should be a bigger group) and stick to the boardwalk at night instead of walking along atlantic avenue..seems safer. I would definently recommend this hotel to friends and if we go back we will probably stay again unless we someone win the lottery and can afford caesars...email me with any questions!

Nice place for the money, staff is very friendly. Next to sands hotel. Make reservations through econo lodge on line or call, the other sites are a lot more.

Right Where You Wanna Be

After staying 2 nights in the econo lodge as part of a spring break "see america" trip, i'm pleased to say it was pleasantly surprising. I was in a double double room so it's smaller than the picture advertised on the choice hotels website. Good tv, clean bathroom with plenty of towels. Breakfast was included in the "lobby" which wasn't bad, fresh donuts, bagels, toast and cereal, as well as juice and coffee. Good for basic use, but not for an extended period.the check-in was fine, the location was perfect for the casions and the boadwalk was less than 5 minutes walk away. The hotel was relatively close to an outlet shopping area called the walk so all in all its great if you're old enough to gamble (21 in a.c) and great if you're not.

Seen Better/Worse

After staying out all night, it was a clean, decent place to stay. Beds were a bit flimsy and the place was somewhat dated, but not bad. Staff was really nice, helpful and friendly. I wouldn't walk around too much at night alone, but the sands was directly across the street. From there, you can walk through to claridge and then bally's, leaving your car at the hotel. Boardwalk was a block away. Not a bad walk during the day. If you can't get a room at a resort, or if you don't want to drive, it was ok. Check-out was at 12 noon, which was nice. Continental breakfast was free and good.

My Worst Hotel Experience
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

The hotel room was in bad condition. Drawers would not close, very dilapidated. The cleaning of the room was terrible. We stayed five nights and had the room cleaned daily. Onmost ocassions thet did not replace the towels. They never replenished the coffee.the floors were vacuumed badly. Ihave been in 3 differant hotels in atlantic city in the last 3 years and this was, by far, our worst. The room was badly in need of repair and a new cleaning crew.

Very Well Run Motel, Convenient To Boardwalk and Casinos
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
I stayed six nights while working at a convention. The location is good: a block from the boardwalk and casinos. The convention center is a 20 minute walk. The neighborhood a bit gritty when you head away from those areas.the econo lodge is very well run. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. No hassles for a friend who was a no-show by reserving the wrong week. It almost had the feel of a b&b. Good free doughnuts, cereal, muffins, coffee, juice in the mornings, but no room for sitting.the rooms and building are showing their age (or is it exposure to the nearby ocean?). Expect to see some rust on a fixture or two. The telephone broke (quick replacement). No wireless internet in the rooms. Housekeeping was excellent. Two nice beds and tv with about 100 channels.don't expect ocean view luxury, but for a home base for casino hopping, seeing the boardwalk, or doing convention work this is a respectable little place.

Dated, But Adequate..

As a cheaper alternative to the casino-hotels, this econo lodge property is fine. Although the pink sheets and pillowcases(!) Are off-putting, you won't notice them with the lights off and your eyes closed. Water pressure in the shower is good, and the room heat and airconditioning is guest controlled. This property was obviously a no-name local inn before, but has been spruced up since it became a choice hotels property. It is a fine budget choice as long as you need nothing more than a room, because that is all that it is here. Parking, incidentally, is free; the front desk clerk will give a signed paper for you to put on your dashboard. This is done only because non-hotel guests can also park there, for a fee. This property is next door to the sands parking garage; entrance to the casino itself is about a three minute walk. Less than a block from the boardwalk, this property has an excellent location. For a quick meal, there is a pizza shop at the end of the block that has new york-style pizza, as well as hot sandwiches. All in all, a servicable motel.
