"Great location...bad view...water problems"
By Anonymous on Friday, November 20, 2009

Visitor Review
Although the location was great, the view from the room was the main lobby...that was the only window. Also there was a leak in the bathroom, and the drain was clogged... Somehow I still enjoyed the room at the architecture of the hotel itself made me pleased... I stayed in the least expensive room type... if you go to Caesars, spend the money.... With all the problems it was actually way better than Bally's or the Claridge (all 3 are connected on first floor)

"Customer Service was Horrible!"
By Anonymous on Tuesday, November 10, 2009

We waited half an hour to check in because there was only one person behind the desk; mind you, we were one of the two couples on line. When we finally checked in, we were given wrong directions to the room, no apologies given. When we spoke with one of the customer service person, he got an attitude. We will not go back for this reason alone.

"Walls were paper thin, manager not helpful"
By Anonymous on Wednesday, October 28, 2009

We could hear the conversations, cell phones ringing and toilets flushing in the room next store. I went to the front desk and spoke with the manager about the problems and asked to cancel my reservation for the second night. He never even apologized for the issues...We went to the Borgata the 2nd day. It was great, staff was friendly. I thought I wanted to stay at a hotel on the boardwalk so we can experience it....don't the boardwalk was shady! My husband didn't think it was safe enough for us to walk on it during dusk. You aren't missing anything if you don't stay on the boardwalk.

"Half and Half"

Booked "deluxe" king room for 2 nights starting Friday. Got there around 8 PM. By that time, they were all sold out of kings so my husband and I had to take a double. I even asked for an upgrade but they said none were available. Hotel desk clerk was very rude and acted like I was bothering her by asking questions. They proceeded to put us in the worst tower (North), which was extremely run down. Rooms left a lot to be desired - window overlooked the lobby so it was extremely dark. A drunken party across the hall had us up all night! We called security but they never showed up. First thing the next morning I requested a room change, asking also that I be moved from the north tower. They told me it would cost more and only after complaining to the manager about my dissatisfaction since the minute I walked in the hotel was I given an upgrade at no cost. Moved to a newer tower the next night with king bed. It was like a totally different hotel..classy, clean, and a lot more quiet. Service overall at the hotel is mediocre at best. Gaming experience terrible...machines very tight and nobody seemed like they were winning. Advice to readers...don't book a deluxe room unless you're not expecting much, check in way before check in time if you want a king bed. Don't expect great customer service..you won't find it here…

"Excellent Experience"

On the Boardwalk, perfect location. Across 5 nights we never met anyone with less than excellent attitude! Were greeted by every staff member, from the Valet parking attendants to the well-dressed management, as if we were their biggest highest rollers. Ask for information from anyone there and they were more than happy to help us. Housekeeping made sure the room was clean and neat before we returned from breakfast. When gambling, drinks were at no charge (although smaller than from the bar) and took a few minutes for service, but still were nice. Parking was a little confusing but once I figured it out, there was no problem. Located on the Boardwalk, we were able to step out of the hotel/casino and enjoy the ocean. With out a doubt, we would stay there next time. Beautiful place!

"Not what I expected"
By J of Htown on Monday, October 26, 2009

When a person makes reservations the Hotel makes sure to tell you that you you need to check in after a certain time like 4pm. Well I checked in at 7 and had to wait an hour in a half for my room because it wasn't ready yet. Even after the wait I had to settle for a accomadations I did not ask for. they tried to offer me 2 doubles and a smoking floor. I have asthma and I am with my boyfriend. What is the point in making reservations If your not going to get what you need. We settled for the smoking room and it was really nice, it barely smelled like smoke, it was really clean and comfortable. The view was horrible who wants to see fumes from the next building but I made the most of it. All you do is sleep in the room anyway. It was a very nice Hotel but very over rated and over priced.

Caesars Is Actually Several Properties In One
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
When caesars opened its atlantic city casino in 1979, it took over the old howard johnson's boardwalk regency motor inn as its hotel , and bulit a new casino adjacent to the inn. Unfortunately, that howard johnson portion of the hotel still exists, and over the years, other caesars hotel towers have risen around it. The reason for such a disparity of opinions on casars is that your personal experience varies wildly depending on which hotel tower you are in. The original howard johnson's motor inn isn't even visible from the street because the rest of the caesars facility has grown around it. Thus, you will read complaints of hotel rooms with no windows or natural light. It's a rather strange thing, for sure, but theold motor inn has been completely swallowed by the rest of caesars, and yet they still rent out its rooms.

Not Good for The Price
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
Two of my co-workers and I stayed at the caesars atlantic city in october 2005. First thought, lets stay at caesars (based on the caesars in vegas we thought - cool!! :-)) once inside, it was very nice. When we arrived into the room, it was not wow. One of my co-workers said, "motel - no-tel." the rooms were a nice size, but the beds were leaning, the beds were not comfortable and the view was of the wall of the next building. The bathroom was small, but nice black tile floor and corian basen. I wouldn't have been so upset had we not paid 309.00 per night in october!!! The resturant was very nice..pricey, but nice. The food was very good and excellent service.

As Good As Ac Gets
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
First of all, bear in mind that ac is not las vegas. There are no great attractions, lounges, or nightly shows. It is a place to gamble. That said, caesar's in ac is as nice as ac gets. The rooms in the centurion tower are large, clean and spacious. The lobby is lovely. The service is excellent. You're in the middle of the boardwalk, and there's a nice private beach in front of the hotel. I'm a slot player, and I enjoy the variety of games in the main casino and on the third floor. There's a very good coffee shop in caesar's and the hotel connects to bally's and the wild west casino, where there's an excellent buffet restaurant. The hotel is generous with comps, and almost every month I get an offer for a free room. I live 150 miles away, and it's my favorite place for a getaway.

Ack! I Got A Horrible Caesars
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
There is a very informative tripadvisor review from 11/05 that mentions how caesars atlantic city is constructed around an old hojo motel, with only the newer hotel towers visible from the outside. Well, I can attest to the apparent truth of this story. We booked a saturday night stay in january, and wound up in one of these old "south tower" rooms. I had requested a centurion tower room, knowing that they were newer and nicer, but declined due to the $50 upcharge requested by the check-in hostess. I should have forked over the $50. The room we got stuck with was definitely of the old "motel" variety, with two small double beds (and I mean double, not queen) for my wife and I to try and share. The room had not one, but two adjoining room doors attached to ours, and everything from those rooms was clearly heard in ours....everything! Every word, tv noise, grunt and moan. On sunday morning, we were treated to the clear and distinct sounds of our next door neighbors "consummating their romance," twice! I am not kidding or exaggerating.

Caesars Palace Always A Great Place for Us
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
My grandfather was a wwii and korean war hero. He paid a high price to earn the ability to gamble and enter tournaments. He had parkinson's disease and for the last 12 years until his death in 2003 at age 89, he and I went to caesar's palace on their lexington-louisville junkets. Since my papaw was a high roller, we were "comped" for our junkets. Caesars accommodated his problems with parkinson's in every way. From the time we boarded the private charter jet in lexington (ky) to the airport in new jersey to the limo service from the airport to caesars. Once there, we were allowed into our comped rooms immediately whereas most had to wait until 2 pm for their rooms to be ready. We were also "comped" for food including all of caesar's restaurants from the chinese palace where he loved to eat dinner via an elevator to my favorite place for oysters on half shell, the venice bar. And the room service is outstanding. We shared fruit trays at midnight at caesar's palace, as this is when he went to the casino and played all night and I was able to relax in our suite and get some rest, overlooking boardwalk. This sort of experience can't be beat.

A Real Review
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
After reading the review written about the howard johnson section of caesars. Yes, you can see the rooms from the outside of the hotel. Yes, these rooms are old but they will be revamped. There are some decent rooms in the north/south towers, the suites from howard johnson. Centurion and ocean tower rooms are always sold for 50 more than the standard rooms. There are photos of each on the website, standard and deluxe. Be sure to book a deluxe room if you are concerned more about the room than the gambling. Caesars is at a great location in ac right in the center of the boardwalk. Once the pier opens, everyone will be going there. Look forward to major improvments.

Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!!
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Our experience was very similar to others, and particularly to the review of january 10, 2006. I read that review with a great deal of empathy for the writer. At check-in I too asked for a room in the centurion tower, but they were all taken, so it was off to the south tower for us. Initially I was philosophic about it. Afterall, how bad could it be, right? Pretty bad. It truly was a motel room, complete with teeny bathroom, tired old beds, non-fitting sheets, non-working hairdryer and clock bolted to the nightstand (no I'm not kidding). Biggest *yuck* factor: I'm not convinced the sheets were even clean on my bed - my sheets had big blobs of bubblegum residue on them (unfortunately discovered too late that night to change them). When I went down the next morning and asked that my sheets be changed the folks at the front desk joked about it and complied, but seemed unphased (and didn't really seem to care). Also, three times someone tried to get into our room when we were in there. Unnerving at best.

Ok Place, Middle of Everything, On Boardwalk
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
I went to caesar's over christmas holidays (dec 27-28) with my uncle and cousin due to his receiving an "enticement" in the mail. It did not live up to its mailing (which I sort of knew would happen), his request for centurion was declined. He was not very happy since he is one of their frequent fliers. The room we got was not was advertised ("deluxe suite"), it was just a regular old normal room in one of the towers. Our view was of the beach, so at least, it wasn't one of the "motel rooms".

Not The Old Caesars
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
Have been a loyal caesars patron for about ten years, since the harrah's take over, have seen things steady go down. Always stayed in a suite in ocean tower (comp), last two visits had to "beg" not to be put in the old "motel" (temple towers). Stayed in centurion towers feb and mar 06, feb ok, march, room not ready at 5:30. Room not clean, old dingy ill fitting sheets. The prime rib at the buffett is now steamship round. Little things but it is not the caesars I knew. Am looking for a non-harrah's casino to call "home".

What A Change and Not for The Better

Three of us just returned to caesar's in ac. We hadn't been there for a few months! What a difference. It was certainly not the a-one place it used to be since harrah's took over. The check in was slower and the rooms were not ready. That was the first time in 10 years and it is not even summer yet. The lines were unbelievable for everything! I had my new cards mailed to me but my friends had to wait in line for over an hour to get them. The place is being renovated and things were boarded up all over the place. So many of my favorite machines (25,50 and$1.00 slots) and have been replaced with video games which I detest!! I hate playing 1,2,and 5 cent machines. I do so miss the old regular slot machines.

Largest hotel room ever stayed in. Would go back, but would wait until after the construction is done(the workers and equipment start at 6:00am didn't need an alarm clock). Would love to see it once the pier is finished. There was no entertainment happening when we stayed so can't comment on that. Security is good in hotel and parking garage. Check in and out was smooth. Hotel is centrally located and easy access from expressway.

Start Was Bumpy....But Stay Was Great
By A traveler from Winchester, VA on Thursday, June 08, 2006

When I first checked in the front desk clerk was extremely rude. She informed me since the room reservation was in my husbands name she wouldn't let me check in. However I had the exact credit card as well as identification showing the same address and last name. Expedia would only let the room be reserved under one name...and I always use expedia for my travel plans and never had this problem. The hotel manager fixed the problem. Our room was beautiful with a view overlooking the casino. I would still recommend this hotel...just make sure to put the room in the name of the person that will be checking in.

You Must Read This Before Booking

Visitor Review
First off let me just say that I absolutley love the casino at caesars (I did very well at the spanish 21 table). However, when I walked into my "upgraded room" I was extremely dissapointed. They considered an upgrade to be a tiny fridge when I was thinking more along the lines of a jacuzzi (wishful thinking I guess). Anyhow, that wasnt even the worst of it, the room was disgustingly filthy. There was some sticky residue on one of the tables, the mirrors were filled with fingerprints, there was dust everywhere, what appeared to be a pubic hair on the bathroom floor, but the worst was an empty juice box laying in plain view. All these things combined only told me that the maid didnt even bother to clean at all except to make the bed. And the only reason I didnt complain was because I was there with a friend who happened to be a maid at another hotel and she talked me out of it. Needless to say, I will not be staying there anymore!!!
