Beautiful Rooms - No Place To Eat!
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
I stayed at the borgata from jan. 3 to jan. 5, 2006. The room rate of $109 seemed quite reasonable, since the "classic room" rents for up to $700 at other times. The room was modern, spacious, very clean, and the night-time view from the huge floor-to-ceiling window was stunning. I also liked the clock radio with cd player and the mini-fridge and illuminated coffee bar inside the armoire.

Went to borgata in november. Crowded, had to wait in line for any bar, so forget getting a drink anywhere there in a timely manner. Rude employees (asked a bartender for a martini suggestion and he replied "well what do you want?!?!?". Saw a show and the employees in the hall were rudely herding people away from the showroom. There was only one exit and it was down an escalator... I don't know where they expected everyone to disappear to!

Borgata Opus Suite
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
I stayed at the borgata on 1/8-10 in one of borgata's newly renovated opus suites-1,000 square feet. The opus suites have recently been renovated and remodeled. They now contain a separate bedroom with door. Also, the living room has new furniture, curtains, and carpeting as does the bedroom. They added two flat screen tvs;one in the living room and one in the bedroom.the bathroom is still the same white/gray marble. One thing to note is that the suite no longer offers the option of one king or two queens. Since the bedroom is now separate, there is no room for two beds. Therefore, it only comes with one king. The bath amenities are also upgraded to 4 ounces, instead of 1.5. Also, a couple of extras(face mist and wash, slippers, garment bags, bottle water) turndown service with chocolates. So the room was beautiful and very comfortable. I ate in suilan and it wasn't that good. This was my second time eating there and the first time was definitely better. Won a little in the casino, and received decent comps. To sum it up, i had a great time, as always, and will definitely return. I've stayed there about 10 times. I have pics if you'd like and will be happy to answer any questions. Highly recommend- not a five star, but definitely a 4 star.

Great Rooms, Decor, Pool Area, Furniture...You Name It!

First off, this is the nicest hotel my fiance and I have ever stayed in. We generally stay at budget hotels when we travel, but we couldn't pass up an opportunity for a complimentary room at a 5-star hotel. We had high expectations and were not disappointed. We were very impressed by the decor, furniture, bathroom, shower, elevators, beds, cleanliness, view, toiletries...you name it and we were probably impressed by it! :)

Second Time Just As Good As The First!

Since I take all the tripadvisor reviews into consideration before I travel and find them very useful, I wanted to return the favor. My boyfriend and I spent two nights at the borgata during the last week of december 2005. The check-in line is long but it moves fast. The room was very nice and clean and although we had been warned about the construction noise, we really weren't disturbed by it.the gym is great: the cardio equipment is in great condition with personal tv's and the weights are adequate. We were also lucky again with the slot machines. I agree with a previous reviewer that they should offer drinks in the pool area, but other than that, the borgata is a beautiful hotel and we'll definitely be back.

Rude Staff
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

This hotel is lovely to look at but the staff needs some lessons in dealing with their guests! From checkin to checkout, everyone was rude and obnoxious. I even found the salesgirls in carina to act like they were doing you a favor answering a question! It is a shame that this hotel has such potential for being a standout in ac. I prefer harrah's anytime where everyone is nice even though the rooms at the borgata are far superior!

I stayed here in january 2006, I got comped a free room so decided to try the borgata. The check in was great, the line moved fast and the staff was super friendly! I'm not a big player so I got comped a basic room. The room was gorgeous, I loved the beds! The bathroom counter is marbel and beautiful! I have never seen a shower where you can set the tempature of the water to a certain degree! That was a cool feature. The room had a refrigrator, coffee set up, safe, and nice furniture. There was a lazy boy chair and ottmon they were so comfortable

Less Than Expected
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Less than expected! The borgata did not meet our expectations. To our dismay this hotel/casino was not exactly the way we expected it to be. The dealers in the casino were less than hospitable. The room was not exactly worth the price. It was clean enough but not as impressive as advertisements would lead you to believe.

Beautiful Room - Fiore Suite
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

The check in was very long. The line to arrive via car was horrible, preferred to park in the garage and then carry our suitcases in. Once in had another line to wait for check in, but it did move fairly fast. The room (fiore suite) was wonderful, full length windows overlooking the marina and atlantic ocean.

Beautiful Hotel

My husband and i stayed here on february 21, overnight. We checked in by 4pm and the placed was packed with other people checking in as well. When we got to the counter they said they no longer had any deluxe rooms available, (we had a $59 coupon that was sent to us by the borgata for a week-night deluxe room), but would upgrade us for free to one of their suites. It was a gorgeous suite, so huge, and a bathroom any person could wish for. Room had a king size bed, cozy bed, along with a refridgerator, 27" tv, comfortable chair and couch, a beautiful foyer as you walked into the room, and such a wide view to look out to through the huge window. Bathroom had a marble shower with seat and a separate tub, no jets in tub, but nice and deep for soaking. Toilet behind separate door, sink area was granite/marble style with two separate sinks that were the latest style. There was a sitting table in bathroom along with a double door closet that lead to two robes for your stay. We don't gamble much but the borgata has a great casino and some really fine restaurants. We ate at the metropolitan for dinner and had a nice dinner but nothing too special, hamburgers, sandwiches, soups, etc.... All together we had a great time and we'll be back for another relaxing time in the near future.

Why Stay Or Gamble Anywhere Else In Ac
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
I've stayed at the borgata several times. I certainly don't consider myself a high-roller by any means since I play mostly nickel and quarter slots, but the borgata is so generous with their comps that I receive one free room per week (sun. Through thurs.) Subject to availability. I've rarely had difficulty booking that promotion, unlike what occurs at many ac casino hotels.

The Worst Customer Service Ever
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
My husband I went to the borgata last friday. The phone reservationist indicated we would be guaranteed a suite. When we arrived, they said that it was only contingent upon availability. (they would not give us one). This was not stipulated on the phone----and we called twice. When we asked to speak with a manager, he came out and was pompous, rude and could care less about customer satisfaction. The borgata is all about appearance and nothing about customer care. Save your money and visit a less "glitzy" hotel where you're treated the way you should be. I will never go back.

Nice - But Noisy
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
We just returned from a stay at the borgata. It is a beautiful hotel and we had a wonderful time - the only complaint we had was there was construction being done right outside the property, and loudest banging/digging noise I have ever heard began at 8 am. (i guess they are digging a new foundation for something)we checked in at the same time as our in-laws, and they were put on the opposite side of the building, so they did not hear the noise. Ask for a room looking towards the ocean (you won't be able to see much of it), rather than the bay, as that is where the noise originates. Other than that - a nice plce to stay - the restaurants are really good as well.

Don'T Listen To Negative Feedback
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Anyone leaving negative feedback is most likely working for another casino. I am in no way affiliated with borgata but have been there several times. This casino is better by far than any other casino in atlantic city. It scores 5 stars in customer satisfaction, room cleanliness, selection of restaurants, etc. It is a bit pricey but worth every penny. If you want to stay at the nicest, most modern and hippest place in ac, there's no other place.

Terrible Experience...
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
I stayed at the borgata for three nights when i was in ac for a conference. I had a terrible experience here, and would certainly never return, nor recommend it to anyone. The staff was rude and unhelpful. The hotel lost my credit card infomration, and ended up charging me twice for the three nights. When i went to the front desk to try to fix this, they were clueless and disorganized. I ended up spending at least 3 hours trying to get the extra charges off of my credit card. For the price, the room was a disappointment. The sheets were starchy and uncomfortable, i was charged for internet use, and there were signs all over the room warning that guests would be charged if they took anything fromt he room. Can you say tacky? I also had to pay to use the fitness center for half an hour. The price was totally unreasonable. Spend your money at another resort that will treat you the way you deserve to be treated!

Great Rooms and Great Poker Room!
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
We stayed in a fiore suite and it was definately worth the extra money. The room was simply to die for! The bathroom was as big as the bedroom and gorgeous. The check-in time was rough but I imagine that is so with most hotels in ac. The only problem we had was that 3 of 6 restaurants in the hotel were closed. This is problematic because you arent on the strip so you are forced to eat at the open restaurants. What this means is $$$$$! Also on a side note...if you play poker the borgata is the only poker room in ac worth going to. I would definately recommend this hotel...without hesitation.

Another Visit To The Best Resort In A.C.
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
I visit a.c. pretty often and can tell you any major negative comments about borgata are unjustified. The hotel is the cleanest & most modern you can get in atlantic city. There is one, not a lot signs all over the room saying you will be charged if you take items from the room and 9/10 times the borgata associates are very friendly and helpfull. Location of borgata away from the boardwalk while a little inconvienet helps keep out the "riff-raff"and provides a more secure enviroment. After the expansion opens in a few months there will be even more options to eat and be entertained that should help reduce the crowding effect that happens frequently on the weekends(which is a major cause of the complaints on here). Remember travelers nothing is perfect but the borgata is a close a you can get in atlantic city~

Borgata Smells Bad
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
Borgata is disgusting and a total disappointment. It was my boyfriend's birthday and I planned a weekend getaway to the ac, a two-hour drive from nyc. I decided on the borgata after reading reviews on this website. What a huge mistake. Before I go into why let me preface this by saying that my boyfriend and I don't go to ac often. We don't go to casinos, period. We're well traveled, cosmopolitan, and urban and generally our idea of fun is not sitting in front of slot machines feeding in quarter after quarter while slurping down beer. But, this being the bf's birthday, I thought this would be a fun surprise trip. What a huge mistake.

Best Pick If You Are In Atlantic City
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
If you have not been to ac before and dont like gambling or spas then i would not suggest going....we find the borgata to be the best hotel in that area and yes, it is far away from the other hotels....all of ac hotels are slightly or extremely tacky so dont think you are going to new york city cosmo night. The area is in process of renovations.....this said, the borgata is a blast!! Especially if you like to do slots or play the table. The restaurants are always good...the italian ones and the homestead. Fab food and wine...the wine conneseur just rated the 2 italian restaurants in the borgata some of the best in the counrty. To get in these restaurants you need reservations early ..of course there are better places around the country but the package here is about the location on east coast, the gambling, the good restaurants and the spa. Yes, the buffet restaurants are not good, but you get what you pay for. There is no need to go out when at a place like the borgata...you are only staying a night or two....otherwise go to new york or miami or philly if you need the light....all of the casinos are designed that way...to keep you focused on the play! It would be great however if the no smoking law in jersey was also for the casinos! The borgata is not las vegas...but it sure is fun and we will keep going back!!!

Going Downhill?

My husband and I stayed at the borgata april 19th and 20th. We arrived around 9:30 p.m. And were told it would be 45 minutes before we could get into our room. We were given room 4025, which was right next to the elevators on the 40th floor. The noise from the elevators did not bother us during our stay, but we really did not spend that much time in the room. The room itself was just ok. The shower leaked and housekeeping did not leave enough towels and toiletries our first night. Also, we were disappointed that our only late night dining choices were a buffet (yuck) or room service (again, just ok). I think next time we will just book at harrahs for half the price. There really isn't much at the borgata that sets it apart from the other ac properties anymore.

April Into May

This is the first day here at the borgata. My husband and I absolutely love it. After reading some of the negative posts on here, I was a little worried. However, from the moment we arrived we were amazed. We are on the 6th floor, facing the bay and the ocean, so we have a wonderful view. The room is gorgeous, and so is the bathroom. I highly recommend the fiore suite. Having seen the sad reviews of the buffet, I was really surprised about my experience being so wonderful. The food is fantanastic, I ate so much I could barely move afterwards. Even room sevice prices are not bad for a place like this. I've been to other places that don't even compare to this, and their room services prices were horribly expensive. I'll leave a post later in the visit to borgata, as of now I highly recommend it.

Fine But Not World Class
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
This hotel is newish and modern, not worn down, has many restaurant choices (the buffet restaurant was excellent, as was the steakhouse), doesn't seem to cater to the nickel slotters, and has ok table games (5x craps odds, decent 21 rules). Rooms are at the low end of 5 star - not quite as nice as a sheraton's preferred guest rooms, for example. Staff is professional and helpful, but the assertive uniformed security guarding the hotel elevators and demanding to see a plastic room key card - maybe found in the trash or on the floor, who knows? - is a little downscale. I would return, certainly, especially given the alternatives - ick - but if the borgata wants to be world class, it will have to try harder. (caution: the borgata is in the marina area, which is not on the beach/boardwalk, nor is it nearly within walking distance of the beach.)

List of Suggestions
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
A few simple solutions would enhance their pool and gym area. The pool is only three feet deep. So it is not for swimmers. However, with the number of children in the pool, it is not for adults either. A new adult pool should be built outside. May increase insurance and lifeguard costs, but draw more customers. The gym has an entrance fee, and looked empty. With most people belonging to gyms, or having exercise equipment at home, there is no reason to charge for a gym. A cafe should be opened at the pool with newspapers so that adults could buy a cup of java and enjoy a daily read.

We didn't stay at the borgata, but had dinner, caught a concert, and had post-concert gelato. The hotel has wonderful vegas vibes and is newish. A little tricky to get to, but worth it. The borgata is a beautiful new hotel. Our room was spacious, with a view of the boardwalk casino hotels. The casino is smoky, as is the whole first floor. We were a little disapointed that slot machines no longer use coins, just computerized vouchers. We missed the clink and feel of real coins.

Loved The Room
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

I have been going to ac for awhile, but have never stayed at any of the casinos. I have always stayed at the holiday inn express or the fairfield inn. The borgata amazed me. The room was gorgeous, but the shower pressure was very low. The complimentary coffee needs extra condiments. The beds are so comfortable that you will sleep through the construction noise. The rooms are perfect for romantic getaways. I cant afford to stay so i am glad that the borgata are very generous with their comp rooms. The waitresses are very slow with their service. They are hard to find on the floor and if you see them they try not to see you, no matter how loud you say excuse me. The pina colada is the worst. The buffet is not bad either, which is rare. I am going back again next week, again free room with bonus slot cash. I just hate that it is sometimes confusing trying to find the hotel. I get lost everytime i go (6 times this year). The wheel of fortune games is not that good like the showboat. I have always came home with exactly what i spent on rental, tolls, food, etc. Sometimes a little more. So my trip is always free. I always brake even. I have fun for free.

Not Impressed
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
We played at the borgata on june 3. We had been there once before and were not impressed so we decided to try it again. The place is beautiful so there is no problem with that but the staff is far from friendly or even helpful. The dealers are robots and just leave you with a feeling that fun is not the theme of the borgata. They are polite but obviously bored. It is definitely over priced to stay there compared to the other casino's. It is rather new so the rooms are updated and modern if that's what you like but you will pay for that. If you are really into the spa and hotel experience you may like the borgata but if you are there to enjoy the casino, it probably will not leave you with a good time. If you really want the spa resort experience i suggest the marriott fairway villa's or their beautiful hotel in absecon which is about 10-15 minutes away from the borgata. The mineral pool and red door salon and 3 other pools and numerous hot tubs and first rate amenities including top rate golf courses would be a much better value for a true first class resort compared to the over priced borgata. It is very difficult to get into this casino also due to poorly marked road signs and this is a complaint this is repeated many times yet they have not done anything to correct it. The borgata does have a good buffet compared to other casino's but again the service is poor. If you can get a waitress on the floor to get you a drink you will usually have to wait awhile before you see her again. It is not a player's casino but more a one time curiosity. The tropicana is great and you can stay there or at one of the other casino's and check out the borgata to play but it's not worth the price to stay there. There are not big on comps at all and give you that feeling that they are doing you a favor to let you play there. Table minumums are at least 10.00 and jump right up to 25.00 quickly. I won at the borgata but i didn't see many people doing that! I would not suggest making reservations there unless you check it out for yourself first.

The Most Gorgeous and Modern Hotel In Atlantic City

Visitor Review
The hotel is vegas-style in atlantic city. The room was modern and gorgeous. The service was outstanding the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again! The hotel needed more road signs to get to the hotel itself from the raods around it.

Vegas Style Hotel In Atlantic City

Visitor Review
This is by far the nicest hotel in atlantic city. Great restaurants, clean and spacious regular rooms, friendly staff, and a hotel that does not smell like a cigarette butt. It's a little more pricey than the other hotels - but you get what you pay for.

Good Hotel

This hotel has everything you would want in a hotel(spa, restaurants, bars etc). My only complaint was the stiffness of the bed. A little hard for my taste. However everything else was great.

Wonderful Experience

The standard rooms were lovely with great views of the lights of atlantic city. The spa is one of the best we have experienced. We dined at 2 different restaurants and had execellent meals at both. The only problem we had was the service at the 24 hour restaurant.
