Beware

Recently we used the best western envoy for one of our drivers. He had dropped a group off in atlantic city on 4/1/02 and needed a nights rest before returning to boston. Our driver checked-in and then proceeded to dinner without entering the room. When our driver returned to the hotel around 130 am he could not get in his room. He went to the hotel lobby and found a note stating the attendant would be back in 30 minutes. After 4-5 hours of restless interuppted sleep in the lobby, a hotel employee finally appeared. It was know 6 or 630 am and our driver had gotten no sleep. The hotel of course did not charge us for the room, but I would not recommend anyone concern about safety stay at this property. Also the hotels management did not seem to care when we telephoned them to complain.

for The Money........

My husband and I would rather spend money in the casionos than in a fancy hotel so we chose to stay here in july 2003. It certainly wasn't anything fancy. We weren't paying for the "taj" so we did not expect it. Our room was very satisfactory. It was clean and had good towels(which is a rarity in cheap motels) but no coffee-maker which I think should be a requirement. The hallway carpet was kind of lumpy, so be careful. The staff was so-so. The worst part was the location. It's about midway of the cluster of casinos, which is convenient, but the walk from the boardwalk makes you alittle uneasy. It's dark and dirty.we're gonna try another chain hotel when we go back at christmas.

Nice Decor for The Price

I have stayed at this hotel twice. For the price the rooms are very nice. I stay at a non-casino hotel because, when I don't, i'm always tempted to get up in the middle of the night and gamble. So this is perfect for me. The staff was okay. The decor was very nice both times with a great 32" color tv. For the price you just can't beat it.

Nice Rooms for Moderate Price

My girlfriend and I had came down to ac for the week and picked this location ahead of time due to its good price and chain name. Well, upon arrival, it wasn't in the best of locations (at night I guess anything other than the boardwalk isn't a good location. We checked in and found our room to be in excellent condition. It looked as though fairly recent remodeling/painting had been done. New furnishings throughout.$51 including all taxes was not too bad for a weekday in ac. Overall i'd say 8/10. Would definetly stay here again for aroud the same rates.

Stay On The Boardwalk Or Go To Vegas
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

We stayed at the best western on 6/26/04. The room was adequate. You could see various unknown brown stains on the side of the boxspring. When I asked for directions to the marina district one person said that they didn't know, then another person handed me a map. The main parking is lot is very small, we had to park in a deserted secondary lot behind the building. I had a nice view of a drunk urinating on the side of an abandoned building.if you're not from an urban area you may find the area unsafe. There were crackheads and winos hanging on the corner near the hotel. Once you leave the boardwalk area you are in no-man's land.the price ($150) was okay, considering that the trump marina wanted $425 for one weekend night. I would rather skip a. C. And do a weekend in vegas.

Bad Experience!
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Well, due to a last minute emergency (work related) my husband and i had to stay in a.c. we arrived about 12:30am so all we needed were a couple of hours. To begin with, i was told that there was only one room with two double beds. Fine! I was given a room right across the parking lot on the first floor so opening up the curtains for a view was a no no. Still ok! - it turned out to be freezing. It was warmer outside and adjusting the room temperature was either a/c on or off. The room was still cold with it off. I call up front desk and was told that someone would come to the room to take a look. Considering it was 1:00am and with my 10 yr old daughter, i knew he was playing games and that no-one was around to look at anything. Pissed now being taken for a fool. I decided to wait in the lobby in front of him for someone to come. The story changed. I was then given a room on the third floor only to find a renovated room w two double beds. Later on finding out that in the drink i had sitting on the table had a roach to greet me. There's more to the story, but to shorten it, it was a very bad experience. The thing is, i've stayed there before and didn't complain even though it was below my norm., but for the price and the last minute emergency i figure it would work for a couple of hours - a second time. Never again! For sure. I'd rather stay at at the howard johnson right across from them, if i have no other choice.

Fine Motel In Atlantic City Near The Boardwalk and Casinos
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
Spent one night with my fiancee here at the best western envoy because all hotels in atlantic city were booked till monday. Pleasant surprise! Nice hospitality at the front desk, nice clean room, nice elevator and free newspaper, all in all a very pleasant experience! Please note: heat was off in the room, and must be turned on by pushing a button on the radiator. In room safe, refrigerator, television etc etc. There is a seven-eleven convenience store next to the motel for any needs you might have, and a jitney bus picks you up in front of the hotel for $1.50 you can go anywhere in either direction of atlantic city. Sands and the claridge-bally's-caesar's hotel complex is walking distance from this motel. A nice coffee shop, perry's, is across the street at the howard johnson's. Boardwalk is a long block away. This motel is a fine alternative if other hotels are full. Parking lot is in front of motel. As i don't gamble, for the curious this is a great location. I found the boardwalk air in atlantic city a very nice feeling to breathe. See my other reviews on tips for places to see and things to do in ac. Overall, a ***** motel and well worth the designation. Safe, secure, friendly, well run, spotless.

Unsafe Area
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
This hotel is in a terrible part of town. You would never want to stay here as a female travelling alone. The rooms are fine, but the area is awful with boarded up buildings everywhere, beggars all over, trashy area. 2 blocks away from the boardwalk is 2 blocks too far. Pay the extra money and stay in a safer part of town.

It Was Just Fine for The Price
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

We stayed one nite at this hotel in march 2006, for the money, it was just fine. The room was clean, the front desk people were very nice. The only part we did not like was parking in the "back" parking lot, but the "front" lot was full. The hotel is one block off the ocean - other than some noisy young kids across the hall (18 year olds?) We would stay again.

Stay Away From This Hotel.......
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
I won't recommend this hotel to anybody .... First of all for the same price you can stay in a much better place in atlantic city, just make sure to do the right search before you booked..... This hotel is located in a very getto area of atlantic city, it doesn't look safe at all.....this is what really bothers me the must of this place, this is my experience that really upset me in a way that i don;t want anybody to have the same bad experience!!!! As soon as i got to the room you are expecting to feel comfortable especially driving long hours that all you want is to have some rest, here is what happened, the rug smells dirty...the room was very hot and when i checked the air conditioner was supposed to be on already but all that was coming out was warm air.....i called the reception to complaint and this is the answer i got: sorry the whole building is like that , you can open the windows is going to be a little chilly tonight!!!! The ac is not working.....what kind of answer is that for a customer?, i will say they should closed down until that gets fix or at least have the courtesy to tell the people that the ac is not working... As soon as i had that answer i spent like half hour making all the calls to move to a better hotel....after driving 2 1/2 from nyc i don't think nobody deserves that.... Stay away from this hotel is awful.....won't recommended...
